Hey I wasn't even aware that you guys knew about my videos. I only found out that my videos were being embedded on this site thanks to YouTube's insight feature. I do have a web based tutorial that explains in much simpler and more organized detail then the one that comes with Free McBoot and a video is planned although don't hold your breath because there is a lot of stuff I have to do prep in order to make the video as professional and informative as I can but I guarantee you that it will be done. It's just that my video production process is not exactly top notch and I am a terrible procrastinator when it comes to stuff like this.

P.S. Thanks for the support and any feedback you have on that tutorial is much appreciated (and no it still isn't fully complete yet but that is pretty much the final draft unless I need to make another major change).

Yes, the original tutorial written by JNABK and myself is more complicated. But it covers just about every aspect of installing FMCB.

We've tried to streamline it as much as possible, but it can't suit everyone as you well know there are 'all' types of people out there. Some of which shouln't be allowed contact with society, but I won't dwell on that topic in this post.

One thing that does bother me about your tutorial. It doesn't give proper credits on the progams. I feel it's necessary do such as it makes your own tutorial more creditable.

I respect yoru opinion Bootlegninja and will do my best to add credit where credit is due in the guide (as well as on future videos about these things). As you might notice from the rest of my site this is one of the largest projects that I've been working on. What all of you in the hombrew scene are doing is truly wonderful and is allowing these consoles, as well as the games, to thrive for future generations to enjoy. If I have offended or upset you in anything I've done I do appologize as this is not my intention.

I do understand that there are many types of people out there and I am trying to simplify the guide for those who need a simple, step-by-step approch to these things. I have already discovered as I predicted that not everyone should even bother with something like this but I try to help them as best I can anyway. Usually just telling them that they may have to buy some $10-20 thing for thier PS2 so they can run this often makes them give up altogether.

The design of the guide (as well as the rest of my site) is considered to be the last thing on my things to do list as I'm not very good in that note as far as web designing goes. If you have any suggestions for me of what to add or how I might be able to improve my version I would be glad to hear them.

I've been aware of your youtube vids for a little while now and i thinks its great that there are others making tutorials and videos for FMCB. There are many different mentalities and the more tutorials of different degrees, the better.
I know its difficult to 'juggle' between giving as much useful info as possible and keeping it simple enough for everyone to understand.


For the 1.8 version, i decided to make 2 Guides, a Noobie Guide and an Advanced User Guide. The Noobie guide will also come with a Noobie Package, complete with the recommended apps already included in the INSTALL folder. So maybe this will help those overwhelmed by all the info.

I found out a lot of people were confused by the naming of the guides, thinking they were all Install Guides for just the installer, so i renamed the main one Advanced User to keep it simple for them.

Keep up the great work on the tutorials and i hope you find time to complete the video. If you would like a peek at the new guides ahead of time, let me know and i'll PM you a link

It doesn't really upset me, but I'm a stickler on credit. (Long story on what another site likes to do that changes names frequently) And I agree. Detailed tutorials can be quite the chore. I spent the better part of a year on my off time tweaking my matrix infinity tutorial.

On this part, that's why I opted for cheat discs and swap magic as the methods of booting the installer. I only wanted to use ways to boot the installer that would workon unmodified consoles only so any user could get their setup going from scratch in no time. Unfortuneately there's been a few snags here and there. Particularly like the problem with codebreaker with any system at SCPH-7500x or newer having USB issues. or like some of the newest SCPH-9000x sysetms having their BIOS updated by Sony and not allowing FMCB usage at all.

the installer method were actually meant to be items the general user may already have lying around so that they wouldn't have to spend any more cash. Problem is, if they have nothing that can do it, (ie like having various gameshark discs, or such) they have to at least spend minimal money to enjoy it, or find a buddy that has it to borrow it.

as for site design, I'm not blessed with any skills in that either. the FMCB tut index is of my disign. I merely borrowed some graphics from sksapps' website and ran with it and made a theme. JNABK is the man when it came to the FMCB tut. he disigned that one.
