FMCB Apps! How can I use them from my HDD?
FMCB Apps! How can I use them from my HDD? –

I already have a memorycard with FMCB, but now I don't know how to use HDL and others from my HDD.
Can you make a step-by-step tutorial or just tell me how? Thanks!
The apps I'm planning to use more is HDL-v0.8c
My PS2 INFO:
FAT PS2
Never softmodded or had modchip before (still not having a modchip, and I'm not planning to use)
Version: SCPH-30004

Another Question
The HDD needs to be formatted to FAT32 or NTFS works?

Thanks!

let's get some things straight:
When you say HDD, you are actually referring to the INTERNAL hard disk with network adapter for fats? If so, no, you can't boot apps from hdd using freemcboot directly. You can, however, boot your shit from any usb flash drive.
Why use hdloader when there's OPL?
You have to format your HDD using WINHIIP to use it on your console. It isn't fat32 nor NTFS (which will not work on ps2, not even from usb), it's a proprietary file system.

I'm not referring to Internal HD, I'm talking about external HD.
If it is external that means it is almost the same as a pen drive, but much bigger. Can I boot apps using the external HD and use my backup'ed games there too?
Also: Whats the difference between OPL and HDL?
Thanks!

Yes you can load apps from your USB HDD. Just put all of your elf files in a separate folder on your USB HDD and use Free McBoot Configurator to set the elf path to your USB HDD. Alternatively you can browse into mass:/ from uLaunchELF and load elf files from there. USB HDD must be formatted to FAT32.
You CAN'T load backups from USB HDD using HD Loader, however Open PS2 Loader will allow you to load backups.

Personally I do prefer internal, but please understand that network adapters and especially IDE HDD's are hard to come by.

Why HDLoader will not load backups if it was made to? (I think)..
Can I boot ULaunchELF from my External HD or what?
Give me tutorials!
Thanks

HDLoader is used to load games off an INTERNAL HDD. USB and INTERNAL are not the same. You better get this quickly or you gonna have a bad time trying to get your shit to work...
