I know it works fine. I mean developers behind. Do they work on new versions. Or are they stopped at v.1.8b?. Or 1.8c ? Do they still support the project?

There's not much you could add to it. and HDD modules take up way too much memory to fit in the small space that can be allotted for the loader in FMCB.

The project is not "dead", its just been put on the 'back burner' for now, as other projects are on the 'front burner' and many developers are investing much of their time on those at the moment. There isnt much left to do with it other than 'optimize' it and add some small improvements maybe.

Of course the project is still supported, we provide support everyday here.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

Neme has also mentioned that he is looking into implementing fixes to the hacked OSDSYS rendering, so things like left, or right aligned text, can be done.

Seeing as the text drawing routines as quite complex, due to the different region PS2's having support for many different font encodings, this may take a while to figure out.

This really only matters to guys like me who want to do ASCII art in the FREEMCB.CNF.
All the necessary functional features are already in FMCB

As JNABK said I'd much rather see their efforts focused on Open PS2 Loader compatibility, than adding trivial things to FMCB.
    V3, V7, V9 PS2s FMCB 1.8/W custom FREEMCB.CNF , ULE+ICON GUI, HDL .8b childsafe, ESR, OPL beta, Misc. 3.5, & 2.5" HDDs
    PSP 1000
    PS3 60 GB BC compatible

    Network Games working w/HDL .8b
