FMCB on 5001, I dont know the chip

Hi, I have a question.
I am buying a ps2 fat 5001 and I will use it with a Network Adaptor.
The thing is that I don't know what chip does the ps2 fat have.
Guessing it doesn't have a Matrix one, will it FMCB works even chip isn't disabled? Will hdloader works too?
I hope I was clear enough with my question.

By the way I have a slim 79001, with memor32 an fmcb 1.7 working on it.
But I want to have one with a hard disk on it.

Hey guxtabo

I understand your question and from what it sounds like is, the chip has to be disabled for fmcb to work properly
Here is a thread posted about it.
Read # 8

So you may just have to wait til you get it and give it a go.

Thanks Windrider. Maybe I will have to wait to see what chip does it have. I will take a picture maybe. Another question: could the chip be removed? when a chip is installed, they dont remove sony chip, did they?
Can I pull off the chip? :O

It's only a few modchips which makes problems. I have a Ripper 2 Gold which is always turn on and I've never any problems with FMCB and ESR.
