    hello, everyone....

    first, please forgive me if what i'm going to post is already solved,or posted before. if it is so, you can just delete or locked this thread.

    and please spare me for having such problems, my brains isn't working right lately.

    here is my problems
    ===========================Chapter 1=======================================
    1. first i boot ulaunchelf 3.49 then browse into my usb drive to install the fmcb 1.8b, it loads just fine, then i installed it, and complete without any errors.
    2. i try to test the app, by power off my ps2. when i power on my ps2, it just goes blank, nothing on the screen, not even sony logo (same problems as in HERE)
    3. i remove my memory-card slot and turning on the console again, booted up ulaunchelf, and delete every fmcb installation manually. then back to fmcb menu, i format entire memorycard slot 1 with fmcb v 1.8b, then i installed once again, but the so-called BSOD keep happening. (-_-)
    4. i repeat the process three times. with no avail of course (T_T)
    ==========================End Chapter 1=====================================

    ===========================Chapter 2=======================================
    1. after formatting the third times, i eventually bored and decided to try another version. that is the fmcb v1.8b noob version.
    2.this time i tried to installed noob version, after i formatted it with fmcb v 1.8b noobs ver. but.........
    3. its not installing at all, it said >>FAILED TO READ DVDELF<<
    4. this process repeats three times, and then i decided to register in this community, to get some help, and hopefully to be some help too (^_^)
    ==========================End Chapter 2======================================

    My question is :
    1. where did i go wrong ? for pete's sake..
    2. where the heck is this [erom0_DVDELF] located ? is it inside the fmcb itself ?
    3. after successful instal of fmcb, should i go to configure fmcb first ? instead power off the console ?
    3a. uh, somebody ? please.....?

    no hdd, no networkcard, no modification-what-so-ever, and utterly veryveryvery weak lens.

    i thank you for your reply/es

    PS : i've already following every single step in the tutorial, including downloaded the file required for INJECT folder (DVDPLx). and has copy, renamed the DVDPLE into DVDELF.BIN

    Install the noobie package without the DVDPLE.

    After next boot deactivate your chip and see if there is a difference.

    If FMCB will work your chip interfered and you can install it again with the DVDPLE to save some space. But the error message will imply that the file has been corrupted or something so that FMCB-Installer can't read.

    Re-download these files and try with the newly downloaded files again

    is there any way of finding out which modchip you have? i have never had a mod chip so i do not know how to access one. but i would have thought there would be some way of finding out make etc... some of them can have the firmware updated.. look for something like that then google with your results you should get links to instructions of the chip...
    i got this from the first google link to a search of "dsm4 mod chip"

    [
    restart the console and press the square button all the time until the ToxicOS logo appears on the screen
    so if you try this and it doesnt work then it may not be a dsm4....

    It is time now to upgrade the chip but first you must check if the chip is connected properly, one way to identify this is to press the square or L1 button while PS2 is loading (before the clouds) and hopefully you will see a message that the DMS4 is disabled.
    same article suggests ways to turn chip off..

    try some buttons at boot and see if there is any information to determine the chip type...

    I believe dlanor had some similar problems with his DMS4 PRO.

    First off,... Try to disable your DMS4-Chip, before you start an install.
    Try to create a PS1-Exploit for your PS2 and start over from there.

    DMS4.
    Square to disable is correct, thought.
    It might vary for different firmwares.

    Without disassemling the PS2, there is only one way to see if it is an original DMS4(PRO) [or not].
    He simply must download and start one of the Update(s)-ELFs (ToxicOS, or ToxicBIOS, regardless of the version).

    If it shows another Hardware-Revision, it is a clone thought.

    The best way still is to disassemble the PS2 and take a look at the "Mobo" and which chip is soldered + foto for the forum if he still canīt verify it wether as an original nor as a clone.

    this thread is closed on the reason as the O.P. using torrent sites, which he so stupidly defends in his other thread.
