actually i'm not really sure it was fmcb fault. but certainly it's the first time, so i thought it might be fmcb related.
fmcb instalation went smoothly, everything is nice. after playing a game for a while, i decide to play another game. reset my ps2, go to OSDSYS, put my game disc, close the lid. and then it simply froze. no input reaction from my gamepad, i can't event reset or turn off my ps2, when i open the lid, the laser still on
so i finally pull the power cord.
here's the detail on my ps2
PS2 slim v18 SCPH 90006 NTSC-J
it is premodded i guess, since i bought it. it can play backup normally.
this never happen before, even with FMCB 1.5 or 1.7 installed
haven't tried 1.8b though. and i uninstalled my 1.8, since i kinda afraid it would happen again

I'm afraid this is not FMCB related at all... but more a hardware problem.

did it work with fmcb 1.5 or 1.7 at all? it might be your modchip or your bios version.

it work with 1.5, 1.6 and 1.7
i use those before switching to 1.8
i don;t think it was modchip related though, it run perfectly now (without fmcb), even us eit on an all nighter.
still haven't tried 1.8b though. maybe later
