Not a problem, but that is not how you typed it.

"If you are using the Memento firmware and the ESR, it will not work, they are conflicting with each other. You need to use one or the other. DJ"
If you had typed "using Memento Firmware and fmcb 1.8 with ESR, then I could understand.

So I figured you would just confuse new people.

Anyhow no problems, fmcb 1.8 and ESR is far superior and why most people now switch.

I just like using both as I have them and am able to do so.

Atomix2.5 major problem was getting ELF files to run on the memor32, but he seems to have gotten that far now.

That's cool good looking out. I know I have one of those cards as well I bought mine way back when it first came out. As I'm sure you did, I remember seeing you over on there forums. Anyway thanks again for the clarification. DJ

Hmm I am trying FMCB. I want to know where to get the 4 .ELF files for the installation.
For BOOT.ELF do I use the normal one or the uncompressed one?
Which of the 4 ESR files do I use for ESR.ELF?
As for the other two the links bring to me a file not found page... Where else can I get them?

For ULE do I use the normal one or the uncompressed one? (same question but for the BOOT.ELF that goes on the Memor32)

Other then that I think I have everything. After that all I have to do is format the card I am going to install on then do multi install on it. Suprisingly easy. Bet it wont work...

That is the other part of my kind of progress. I think I see the problem. I was using esr r9b. And that only got me to the memento screen then froze. But this time because I remember being able to get to the ESR screen. So I tried the r9a. And guess what memento then ESR but then still black... So r9b. Is the problem. And so is 9ba... But it's better. Which ESR version do you recomend I try to see if it works?
Well,... I guess you should try the R9a, if it shows ya the ESR-Logo there.

I stand corrected... Are you happy now?
    No offence (and I´am. ).

Well my desktop doesn't like my new disks apparently. It gives me some error message. So I have been using my laptop burner. As for the burn speed I was told to stay at 4x. Could the burn speed really be the problem?
    It could be.
Try to use another media, such as Verbatim DVD-R and burn @8x (the burning-strategy is different in this case/speed and the media + resulting quality might be higher. It depends on your dvd-writer.).
I´m not really certain/sure, if your laptop-dvd-writer produce reliable results.

    Well i wiped it...
...and went straigth to FMCB... ^^

I am going to now that I got ule to work.
Hope you´ll get it to work.

Ok some thing good something bad. Some thing good is that FMCB is working perfectly! Once I put it on the usb and formated and installed it to my sony 8mb card. Now when I put in that card and reset the FMCB loads. The menu is cool! :-) Any way I put in my disk and hit ESR. Since my game is Jak & Daxter. It does not work with ESR. But even with the settings that should work for ESR still don't work...

    http://psx-scene.com/forums/433755-post707.html (ESR - public beta)

Should I try a different game like Gran Turismo 3: A Spec?

There are 2 colors on the bottom of my burnt disk. A lighter color in the center and a darker color in the outer half. From another post I read I'm guessing this means that the data is only being burnt to half of the disk. But I forgot the solution... And can't find that topic again... Is the solution the burn speed? At 8x?

If so then tommorow I will try to burn Gran Turismo 3: A Spec at 8x and see what happens.

I guess after all of this the game and/or the burning was the problem after all.

Are there skins for FMCB? How do I apply them?

    Why does it matter?

EDIT: I found the problem it is the disk. On the ESR screen on the little status button it shows unknown media or unsupported media i don't rememeber something like that. I will try again when I get home and tell you exactly what it says. But this means that it has to be the burning right? The game should have worked with those settings and SONY DVD-R disks are good. So it is the burning process. What do I do now?

You don´t need to do anything, after you inserted your ESR-Backup.
FMCB automatically starts the ELF, which is mapped to "ESR-Path".

You should, but I assume it is your dvd-writer which causes the problem.

    This comes from the write-strategy.
It uses bigger steps to switch to higher write-speed.
The different colors indicate, that the laser-power-calibration isn´t perfect (but usually good enough for PC-Drives).
    You can make a C1/C2 (PI/PO)-Errorcheck with e.g. Nero Disc-Speed.
I assume (like before) you dvd-writer produce a result, which isn´t the best, so it might vary on different speeds.

If so then tommorow I will try to burn Gran Turismo 3: A Spec at 8x and see what happens.

    Yepp, I think so to.

Are there skins for FMCB? How do I apply them?
    For what exactly?
It is possible, to change the OSD if you want to.
Look at the "Share your CNF"-Thread.

    Why does it matter?
Well,... If you don´t, it looks like your quote is from one and the same person.
Look at the wrong info, which you quoted after me.
    ...looks like I said it.

EDIT: I found the problem it is the disk. On the ESR screen on the little status button it shows unknown media or unsupported media i don't rememeber something like that. Yepp. The PS2 couldn´t even recognize it as valid disc, which means it is hard to read for the laser.
I suggest you to try an other dvd-writer.
Did you try to update your dvd-writers FW (both Laptop- and PC-dvd-writer)?

Huh? Im guess from the last part that that means that it could be the 4x and 8x would be better? If not then I don't really get what you just said...

    That depends on your DVD-Writer-Model/Type.

Yepp, just try 8x (maybe even before you update your dvd-writer, because you could kill your writer, if you do not flash it correctly/don´t know what you´re doing there).
