But even with the settings that should work for ESR still don't work...
You don´t need to do anything, after you inserted your ESR-Backup.
FMCB automatically starts the ELF, which is mapped to "ESR-Path".
Should I try a different game like Gran Turismo 3: A Spec?
You should, but I assume it is your dvd-writer which causes the problem.
There are 2 colors on the bottom of my burnt disk. A lighter color in the center and a darker color in the outer half. From another post I read I'm guessing this means that the data is only being burnt to half of the disk. But I forgot the solution... And can't find that topic again... Is the solution the burn speed? At 8x?
This comes from the write-strategy.
It uses bigger steps to switch to higher write-speed.
The different colors indicate, that the laser-power-calibration isn´t perfect (but usually good enough for PC-Drives).
You can make a C1/C2 (PI/PO)-Errorcheck with e.g. Nero Disc-Speed.
I assume (like before) you dvd-writer produce a result, which isn´t the best, so it might vary on different speeds.
If so then tommorow I will try to burn Gran Turismo 3: A Spec at 8x and see what happens.
I guess after all of this the game and/or the burning was the problem after all.
Yepp, I think so to.
Are there skins for FMCB? How do I apply them?
For what exactly?
It is possible, to change the OSD if you want to.
Look at the "Share your CNF"-Thread.
Well,... If you don´t, it looks like your quote is from one and the same person.
Look at the wrong info, which you quoted after me.
...looks like I said it.
EDIT: I found the problem it is the disk. On the ESR screen on the little status button it shows unknown media or unsupported media i don't rememeber something like that. I will try again when I get home and tell you exactly what it says. But this means that it has to be the burning right? The game should have worked with those settings and SONY DVD-R disks are good. So it is the burning process. What do I do now?
Yepp. The PS2 couldn´t even recognize it as valid disc, which means it is hard to read for the laser.
I suggest you to try an other dvd-writer.
Did you try to update your dvd-writers FW (both Laptop- and PC-dvd-writer)?
