Ok guys, I need your help. I am running on FreeMCBoot 1.8, and cant seem to get backups to work.. Im using Memorex DVD-R disc that have been burnt at 4x on a dvd burner that is capable of 20x. I Also have patched the .Iso using ESRDiscPatcher .24a before burning on IMGburn. Every time regardless of the game backup I always seem to get stuck at a black screen.. If anyone knows what to do , please help me ... thanks,

I'll start by saying Memorex are very low quality DVD's you should start by getting some higher quality ones. It does seem that you are burning the DVD right, so it may just be that the laser in your PS2 is coming to its end. If thats the case then your options would be to replace the laser or find some other way of playing games, like over a network or from an externally powered USB hard drive.

I personally have used sony DVD's but I've read around the forums that verbatim DVD's are really high quality as well.
