Does Bootlegninja's new guide install everything including ESR?

All i am trying to do here is to mod my memory card so my ps2 can play back up games.

and his guide gives too much information that confuses me

so i did everything the guide said. i got ulaunchElf SMS ERS HDloader and changed their name as the guide said. and put them in install folder. DVDplu in inject folder
and to boot it with my swapmagic, i renamed the folder SWAPMAGIC

so on my usb drive it was like SWAPMAGIC>Install> branching folders
SWAPMAGIC contained FREE_MCBOOT.ELF(which was changed to SWAPMAGIC.ELF)

it installed correctly, however when i press O as tutorial says. it says MC Configurator not found?

did i miss something?
and is the configurator part even necessary for my purpose

It includes links to the basic homebrews such as uLaunchELF, SMS, ESR, and HDLoader. Not the binary files themselves.

does it install ESR?

If you place the files in the install folder root, where the other folders are (but don't put them in those folders), the installer should copy them to the BOOT folder on your MC. (That's how I read and interpreted the instructions.) Or, all you really have to do is run the installer, then load uLaunchELF and copy the files to where you want them and edit the config file as necessary.

ok i think i did everything correctly. so if i did the first way u mentioned, i dont have to use uLaunchElf or anything else right?

Correct. uLaunchELF won't be necessary because you should be able to launch ESR from the ps2browser hacked osdsys. A future release will try to implement autoloading ESR patched games. :)

For somereason "Launch FREE MC BOOT" "ESR" doesnt even show at the ps2browser

Before the browser loads up the FREE MC BOOT logo shows up though

I just did a test using your method with swapMagic and your right, it doesnt copy the files correctly from the SWAPMAGIC folder, i even tried putting the INSTALL folder on the root, so we need to find an alternative way with SwapMagic now.

The installer must not be recognising the path: SWAPMAGIC/INSTALL and is ignoring it. And because the installer is in a subdirectory, it doesnt look to the root for the INSTALL folder, i dunno.

Try this:

Put uLaunchELF {renamed to SWAPMAGIC.ELF} into the SWAPMAGIC folder instead of the installer ELF

Put the installer and INSTALL folder on the root of the USB stick.

Run the SwapMagic disc and it should automatically boot to uLaunchELF, then use the FileBrowser {press O } and go to mass: and press O on the FREE_MCBOOT.ELF

This should work just fine!

I just tested this with your install package and it works fine with that method.....we will adjust the tutorial to reflect this for FMCB 1.6
