Do you guys have to reset your console to load mcboot? –
I have been reading and reading for hours all night and day and successfully installed MCBoot 1.5 on my memory card. But this little problem I couldn't find the answer for.
When I turn on my PS2 slim 79001 it goes to the Sony homescreen but, when I reset the console it loads up MC Boot and I am ready to go.
Do you guys have to turn on your PS2 and then reset it in order for MC Boot to work? I am kind of tempted to buy another MC card or install MC Boot 1.4 to see if it resolves that little issue.
Also I just wanted to thank you guys for the outstanding work and that this is truly a remarkable effort by the developers who contribute their time for the community's benefit. A big thank you to the helping community as well you guys are extremely helpful around here.
Edit: Forgot to mention that my memory card is an official Sony one that I bought from Amazon.
Definitely install FMCB 1.5! NOT 1.4, ahh!
I have attached it for you.
Also, my friend's Slim 79001 (which I installed FMCB to his MC) boots with no problem. Try formatting your card (but backup, this deletes everything) and reinstalling if upgrading to 1.5 works.
lol I followed this guide exactly: http://www.aoinamida.com/fmcbesr/esrdvdplayer.html
And now I don't have that problem anymore. I skipped a step in renaming dvdplayer.elf and what ever steps that follows after that. Now it works like a charm . The only thing that I disagree with the guide with is that I'd rather have uLaunch as BOOT.ELF and use ESR as BOOT1.ELF and go from there. I'll be using SMS on my thumbdrive so browsing to the SMS ELF is necessary.
Thats two days of searching for you. I had to learn everything though so it took me a while heh.
