    Hi,

This question might have already come up before, but i couldn't find it in the search engine.

I am trying to install FMCB on my friends PlayStation 2 memory card, I installed it, but it wont work on his Playstation (SCPH-39003).

I can't find anything online about this problem, and the install works fine on my Playstation, which is a slimline.

Yes, they are both the same region, so im wondering if its something wrong with this one PlayStation, or if its the model?

    Cheers.

    -Mike

It's compatible on that console. you may want to use a cheat disc and install FMCB directly from his system on to a MC to do a quick test.

Did you select "Multi-Install" for the installation? That is the option you need to use the same MC on other versions in the same region. Normal is for only the same version/region.

    Yes, i did chose Multi-install.

I will try that cheat disc way.

I will just add on of what is happening,

When the memory card is in, and the Playstation is booted up, It just stays in a black screen, nothingloads up, and if you listen to the tv, you can hear a sort of clicking sound repeating, as if its just repeating trying to load the memory card up.

Sounds like theres a disc in the tray if your hearing clicking sounds, as there is no sound when the MC is being accessed by the PS2 or any apps.

If you do have a disc in the tray, just remove it and re-start , see if it works.

What i meant from the clicking sound, might be better described as someone tapping a mic.

This sound does happen on my slim, only once, just before the Free MCBoot logo appears.

Ive never heard that sound, so i cant help with that, but if it keeps "looping", then something might be making the FMCB re-start over and over , before it fully loads or something.

I dont know what else to advise, except agree with bootlegninja.

I'm assuming you're trying to run 1.8b. You've already tried the same card on two consoles, but did you try a different memory card? If the problem happens with your memory card as well, then it could be his PS2 not reading the card correctly.

    Yes its 1.8b,

My memorycard with FMCB on it doesnt work on his PlayStation either.

So i would assume it is his Playstation? I has tested my memory card on my brothers one, and seems to work fine.

If both of your consoles are from the same region (last two digits in SCPH-Productcode), I assume it is his PS2 or something is wrong with the MC/Install.

    About the sound&looping.
I guess, you have a CRT-TV and it makes some noise, when it switches the V-Mode.
It seems it recognizes the MC and itīs uptate, but hangs on decrypting the KELF/osdmain.elf and then restarts the PS2-Browser (which lead into a loop, if you do not un-plug the MC).
That could be due to different reasons.

-your ps2 is not the same MG-Region as the other one (but still, it uses the same OSD-Update-Folder).
-your dummies have not been properly patched, so for example you have the un-patched dummy on MC, the OSD tries to load it as update and fails there...
