Changing the Language in FMCB Configurator?
Changing the Language in FMCB Configurator? –
11-29-2009,12:58 PM
Hello,
I recently got my MC back from Gnom who kindly installed FMCB on my MC for me! As Gnom is French, the install he did was also in French. Its not a huge problem for me as sometimes I can just look at the screenshots on the internet for the configurator to change settings but I would rather be able to just read it in English.
To change the language in FMCB_CFG.ELF is there any easy way of doing it?
Is copying over the olf FMCB_CFG.ELF with an English one a recomended course of action or will this cause problems?! I dont want to screw up my MC after Gnom already did the install.
Any other ideas?
EDIT - I went ahead and risked it and it worked perfectly! No further assistance needed.
Thanks

Reason: Find Solution

Glad to hear you find a solution. If you have something else you're not sure of, be aware that if for some reason you mess up your settings, there is a recover method : put uLE on a USB pendrive, rename it RESCUE.ELF, put it in your ps2 and turn it on. That should launch uLE, letting you resume to your previous settings. This should work as long as the FMCB folder is not erased/corrupted (that's why you shouldn't mess with it, and furthermore you shouldn't have the need to).

thanks for the advice, Gnom. I will bare that in mind if I ever screw something up but I think I am finished with fiddling with the different settings etc.
I am in the process of compiling together the apps you installed for me so I can make a fresh install on a new MC next week and then I will always have another MC to load from if I make mistakes. I doubt I'll need to fiddle around any more. I just hope to hell I dont accidentally format my MC or delete necessary files.
But as of now, my free mcboot in in english now and works great!
