cant get mcid

im trying to install v1.1 on a modded ps2 with DMS4 lite and Ulaunch 4.12. when i try to get the mcid from my original Sony 8mb MC it freezes at the point where it says "Reading Kbit and KC... Done." and then theres 2 more lines on letters and numbers. can some one help me?

dude, you may want to install 1.2c instead of 1.1. much easier and it will take care of everything automaticly.

I think most likely you are using a console neither USA nor Europe version.

well, i can't get 1.2b or c as well as mcid to run.... kinda figure it's my v9 us with dms 3 installed.

You have to disable the chip or use an exploited console.

Funny ... all the programs worked for me on a JP 18000 PS2 (with DMS3 installed)

You can use the "version-check-dvdelf-dwnload.elf" posted by Coolan in the "Support for other regions?" thread. As for testing of course.

It works on ANY console regardless of the region but it will generate a mcid.bin that is suitable for the DVD driver built in on your console instead of the one used by the freemcboot program. It should at least let you test and figure out why mcid.bin fails.

Edit:
to disable the DMS3 HOLD the eject button while powering up the PS2.

oh dang i guess i cant do it then. cause the only way i can load elf's is with the modchip. i tried v1.2c and it freezes too.

This is really roundabout, but use your modchip to build a PS1 exploit, then use THAT to build the MCID with the chip disabled.

I just said that a DMS3 won't keep him from getting MCID.
Most fake MC don't have MCID. Keep that in mind.

I'll try to build the exploit on a original V9 I have here and will see if there is any isues with V9s.

well, i'm trying on a store bought 64MB datel card, if that makes a difference.

i'll have to wait until tuesday to recreate an independence exploit booting save.... and i'll try again then.
