Bootlegninja was not talking only about global google searches on the entire Internet, but also of local searches in the forums of this site, to be done either by manually reading through the relevant threads, or by using the search commands of the forum software (though they take some getting used to).

Since this site is the home site of FreeVAST, or "Free McBoot" as it has now been renamed, you are far more likely to find what you need here than elsewhere.

    Best regards: dlanor

This is exactly What I did with swapmagic 3.6 and it works great.

1 format a usb flashdrive to either fat or fat 32

2 open your flashdrive and on root create a folder called SWAPMAGIC make sure it is all caplocks

3 copy your mcboot elf into the SWAPMAGIC folder and rename it to SWAPMAGIC.ELF all caps again.

4 insert your usb flashdrive into ps2 and make sure your memory card is inserted in slot 1

5 insert swapmagic 3.6 dvd or cd and turn on ps2 and it will autoload the mcboot installer.

6 just follow the on screen directions.

Here, this is a ready to burn ps2 mcboot 1.2 bin/cue image for swapmagic

Just plug your memory card into slot 1 and load your 3.6 swapmagic cd and swap with this disc and it will boot up. I just tested it so it should work for you

you really should listen to bootlegninja and dlanor. Do research and read as much as you need to before you ask for help.

hey man thanx for your time but that didn't work.

I downloadted and unrared the .rar file you posted then I opened up dvd decrypter, click mode --->iso--->wright

    clicked verify then

found the free mc boot .bin file then burn't it at a speed of 4X.

Had ps2 memory card in slot 1, loaded swap magic 3.6 with some problems.. it took a few tries in order for it to work. then finally inserted the cd-r that I made with the mc boot on it, and it didn't work. Any ideas... yes I have searched around, i'm going to try buring it with ashampoo burning studio 7. Will post to see how it worked.

1st you must preboot any game you want to swap with original-Disc on boot-up, to get TOC.

If this didn't work, try to open the CUE-File instead.
If DVD-Decrypter won't, use another app.

Won't swapmagic be getting the TOC?
DVD-Decrypter only burns the .bin file not the .cue
Ashampoo Burning Studio 7 will only burn the .cue
So If I burn the .bin then open up Ashampoo and burn the .cue will that do the trick?
Is it necessary to have a .cue to make a ps2 disc?

    1. Some burning-apps don't get Sector-Structure, or Disc-Type from binary images. Some need the CUE.
    2. Swap-Magic is only a software.
It will get the TOC of every inserted Original-PS2Game-CD/DVD, which is in drive.
So if you boot SM from CD, it should work.
Else, if you boot a burned CD through SM with no disc in drive (without doing the slide-trick), or even if your SM-Boot-Disc is a DVD, it'll not work.
    3. Did you burn CUE-BIN as files to your CD?
It is an image, which must be choosen to be opened.

    regards TnA

what brand of cd-rs are you using? Are you using the swapmagic 3.6 cd? Like TnA said, pick the cue file when you burn it. I use imgburn it's free and it is basically an updated dvd decrypter.
