    It can help ... by launching the Open-ps2-loader (OPL)

    OPL can then run games from HDD, USB ... and SMB.

    If your NAS has SMB (samba/CIFS) support, you may configure it.

    Keep in mind the small single drive embedded nas units use port 139. If you have a spare computer and hard drives, I suggest FreeNAS. it works on both ports 445 and 139 although there is a bit of extra stuff you need to do in the SMB config screen.
