sorry to be bugging on this when there are other issues to deal with but, this is kind of annoying

I've come across an interesting bug in the new FreeMCBoot, basically if i load uLE as boot with skins. uLE freezes at the menu with the skin loaded

    PS2 v9 250 GB Maxtor HDD using FreeMCBoot 1.4

    PS1 MC Exploit-skins on HDD-works
FreeMCBoot 75K DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on HDD-uLE freezes at menu
FreeMCBoot normal DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on HDD-uLE freezes at menu
FreeMCBoot 75K DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on MC-uLE freezes at menu
FreeMCBoot normal DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on MC-have not tested yet
FreeMCBoot 75K DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on USB-uLE freezes at menu
FreeMCBoot normal DVDELF.bin-uLE skins on USB-have tested yet
    FreeMCBoot 75K DVDELF.bin-uLE accessing HDD after Loading-No skins-works

btw the old FreeMCBoot worked with this same skin before

What did you do, when you try to install?
Did you embed an ELF, or a DVDPLx/DVDELF.bin?

...or try the next installer these days.

    1) Boot ULE with MCBoot already in my MC
    2) Press X to install, let the installation complete then Triangle to shut down the console.
    3) Power-On ----> Black Screen

    I used the installer v1.4...

Now i format my mc with the installer to create a new install of mcboot...

    At power-on i have a RED SCREEN !!

The latest runme.elf by ffgriever works however. I replace the one i had from my first installtion (v1.2) with the runme1.1.elf (something like that)

Sorry, but i dont know what embed means (u know i'm french)

    thanks for the help

Embedded is like "integrated", but in this case "replaced and integrated".
You got a RDS(=Red Debug Screen) after Format and install?
That's a good sign, cuz it means, that the Xploit itself is working, but you have no ELF placed in the right location.

But did the install should place the right ELF at the right place ?

I used an installation over a previous installation. (at my first try)

The RDS appear after the format and new install.

I can still use ULE with my old exploit (PSX trigger with another card) but i prefer to use MCBoot.

So what i should do to get MCBoot to works now.

    ***edit***

    I didn't notice that
Place the elf you want to boot as BOOT.ELF in this folder, or in BOOT folder on usb stick (if you let the installer inject the default loader).
    Let see what appen then.

Argh,... Wait for the newest release.
    Then Format and Install.
And configure your FREEMCB.CNF to your wishes (ELF-Dir, and so on...), or copy the ELF you want to Auto-Boot to mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF .
    That's it. It should work.

Edit: Ah,... You see the instructions.

Wouldn't it be a good idea if the free McBoot installer would copy mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF to mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF (but only if the BOOT-Folder on memory card did not already contain a file of that name?), maybe as a button-option on the installer menu screen?

If the memory card has been formatted by Free MC Boot AND the 'slim' (75kb) loader has been installed successfully to mc0:/ then mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF should be copied to mc0:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF

In all other cases no changes should be made to mc0:/BOOT/

I've tried Free MC boot 1.4 on 3 consoles, only 1 of them worked, that one is a 75006, the other two, one a (a 70003)
froze on 'Decrypting DVDPLE' the other (a 75006) installs OK but freezes with a black screen on boot (mc0:/BOOT/ is empty).
