I think your problem is SNES-Related, because it is patched and you have a console with an other cdvd-handling (if SNES-Station needs a cd in drive and AFAIK non-patched-versions need it. SNES-Station is partially patched and it may crash for several reasons.).
I'm not sure. Sorry.
But I guessed, that you have a patched SNES-Station version and a V9 upwards.
If someone could test the same thing on the same version without dead laser, it will answer your question for sure.
Well, it starts fine. It just hangs when it's trying to save to the memory card in slot 1. So I don't know whether it's because of a missing cd/dvd or not.
So, either I remove the mem card from slot 1 or I find a cfg file for snes station. I don't want to change the video output every time I start it.
Post the settings you wish and I'll (or someone else) will configure it this way and send it (Config) to ya.

i have upgraded to FreeMCBoot 1.4b and uLE 4.16
and i'm still having the same issue

i'm wondering has anyone else came across this or is it just me, if its just me then i'll try some other skins, if not we should really try to find out why FreeMCBoot is causing this issue w/ uLE.

@glidor: I have uLE mapped to a button, 75KB-ELF and the XMB-Skin (dragonfires BOOT-Folder he provided). But it is an older uLE (4.13d).
I tested it with all "FMCB 1.4"s and it works for me, from mc.

As I said it works on my V7PAL with 4.13d, but I didn't tested it with skins on other devices.
