    Hi,

I have searched the forum for my problem, but I can't find anything.

    I've go a V7 PS2 PAL w/ PS1 Exploit.
I have installed the FMCB 1.4b into my official 8MB Sony MC, but after rebooting my PS2, only a black screen : No more PSX exploit or FMCB starting uLaunch ...

I try to create a mass:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF w/ ulaunch 4.16 on 2 differents USB stick, always the black screen

    any idea ?

    Thanks

    //BR

    kilik8u

PS : sorry for my english, I'm a bit rusty

did you try holding R1 while the ps2 is booting up? (if that don't work, try it again, but create a mass:/BOOT/BOOT1.ELF first)
also, what happens after the black screen? the normal ps2 browser loads?

if you don't have a config file in the right place on the MC, it autoboots the ps2 browser i think, so it should work when holding R1.. so you could:
    1. edit your config file
    2. use version 1.4 as that does not use config files

Ok take out your memory card turn on your ps2 once in the ps2 browser
insert your memory card and browse your memory card if a blue block
is in it should say corrupted data delete ok now make a folder and name it
BOOT just like that!! OK add to that folder the BOOT.ELF of Ulauncher 4.16
and add it to your Pendrive if this does not work try other kinds of ULE version.
i got a version 7 too but my is NTSC..

i've got the same black screen with my v9.
make a backup of your saves in your usb stick.
    launch fmcb
    format
    install
shutdown with triangle, (not with reset button)
copy ule to boot/boot.elf to your memory stick.
    now it works

maybe it's a bug, once it says installation complete, i have to soft-poweroff, else it won't work

I try to boot with holding R1 at startup, I have create mass:/BOOT/BOOT1.ELF on many Pendrives (i found a third one), nothing, always this BSOD and nothing after, always a black screen of death.
I have deleted the corrupted data on my MC, but the problem persist : BSOD
I can't backup my MC for now, no way to boot any homebrew (i forgot to do this when i can ... bad kilik8u !!)and the PS2 exploit does not function anymore.

    > i have tried w/ 4.12 / 4.13 / 4.14 ULE version ./ compressed and uncompressed : BSOD at PS2 Startup.
    > I have soft poweroff the PS2 when installing FMCB

    >> I can boot on the PS1 xploit by deleting the freemc saved data in the ps2 browser. Good !
    >> I will try to reinstall FMCB w/o format my MC ('cause i got only one MC ^^) but this time, i make a backup of my only MC --> same BSOD

    1. Did you use any of the "custom-install-files" (BOOT.ELF, or DVDELF.bin)?
    2. Do you have a disc in drive?
    3. SCPH-Number of your PS2?
    4. ... More info needed.

    1. Then you have a 1.6MB-DVDELF from your ROM on your MC, which takes a few seconds (maybe 10), just to load the file.
That's why it should stay at black screen, for a while.

You can see, when FMCB is properly loaded, after the Analog-Light "blinks/flashes" 1time, or stay lighted.

    2. Did you also test another Homebrew, than uLE?
Did you test to set cdvd-control to on/off?

    3. The SCPH-Number, of your PS2.
Look at the back of your console.

    4. Did you carefully read the readmes? ^^

    Ok, it's done !
I thing I have readed the readme a bit too fast !! Oo' Sorry !
    I make a custom install files of FMCB w/ a DVDELF.bin and a ULE 4.16 BOOT.ELF.
    I shutdown the pS2 w/ the installer.
I try to boot directly -> BSOD, then the game in dvd tray launch ...
Then I try to boot holding R1 button : ULE start w/o any config.
I restore CNF / background image and ico : everything is ok, exept that i cannot boot w/o holding R1 button.
    Thanks for your help !

I will try to understand why the PS2 does not boot w/o R1 button !
    Perfect Multimedia System :
    PAL V7 PS2 /w FMCB 1.7 on Sony 8MB Memcard
    UlaunchELF 4.30
SMS 2.8 rev6 /w Radhost 1.8 (SMB share not fully operationnal on my system )
    HDL 0.8c fully patched

Wait for 1.5-Final and use the new instructions for this.
The mistake you did is, that you embed ule directly instead of only copying it to mc?:/BOOT/BOOT.ELF !
