Once I have Free MC Boot up and running is there anyway for me to force my PS2 games to play at higher resolutions so I can get a cleaner signal through my component cables to my HD tv? I see there is a boot disk called "Xploder HDTV Player" and for allot of games it really does look sharper, but is there any mod that I could just install for free to my memorycard that would allow me the same functions?
EDIT: I'm still searching around and I found a .elf file of the Xploder HDTV Player, is that of any use to me? can it be installed into or launched from FMCB? I also plan on using HD Loader aswell if that makes any difference.
The Playstation 2 supports up to 16-bit 1080I out of the box, and can be programmed for 1080P graphics.
Try GSM here instead of Xploder, as Xploder isn't free: http://psx-scene.com/forums/f19/gs-m...eedback-61808/
However, please take note that there is no real advantage of making your games output video at any resolution above 480P, as the resolution of the frame buffers used by many games is meant for PAL or NTSC screens (Around 640x448).
A handful of games were programmed to support 480P out of the box, but most of them have this option as a hidden option that is accessible by holding TRIANGLE and CROSS just after the Playstation 2 logo plays.
So far, I've only come across one game that supported 720P or 1080I out of the box, and that was the Japanese edition of Valkyrie Profile 2.... but it doesn't seem like the developers used HD textures and models.
