I have all the FMB files that they say are necessary to install it to the memory card along with several compress .iso action replay files. I burnt all of them to a CD-RW and no of them seems to work. Can someone please tell me what I am doing wrong.

Please do not create multiple threads, if they are in relation to each other.

    1. You need a retail-disc/an original disc, to swap with (or atleast have a method to run an ELF).
    2. If you´re not able to do it yourself, there is a Sticky-Thread, right here in this sub-furum, where friendly Install-Volunteers install FMCB for you on your MC.

Like others have already told you, there is no way to burn any CD or DVD disc so that it will boot by itself on a completely unmodded PS2 console, without even a working 'softmod'. You will have to perform some trickery (aka: disc swapping) to make the console believe that it is booting an original disc, instead of the burned disc you've 'swapped' into the drive. There are many tutorials on those methods, so please search out and study those.

However, even when you have studied the 'swapping' tutorials and learned how to do that, you also need to use suitable media. None of my PS2 consoles (four total, two of which I still use regularly) have ever been able to use any "-RW" media. Neither CD-RW nor DVD-RW work at all. And I know this to be true for many other console users as well.

Only a few people have managed to use such discs on their consoles, and even there it is not a good idea. The -RW media will definitely shorten the lifetime of your PS2 CDVD lasers quicker than anything else, so please avoid using such discs.

Personally I use nothing but Verbatim DVD-R and CD-R discs, and have made (literally) hundreds of working backups of both kinds. Using cheaper or unsuitable (-RW) media is a sure way to disaster.

    Best regards: dlanor
