    Hey everyone.

I recently installed free mcboot v1.5 on my memory card, however, it doesn't seem to load the BOOT.ELF file that i placed on my usb drive in a folder called "BOOT".

I'm currently using a modded ps2 to do this, and ULaunchELF v4.16 running on CD-R.

I have done everything that the tutorial says, but still no luck.

    What i have:
    Modded PS2
    ULaunchELF v4.16
    Free MC BOOT 1.5
Memory Card 8MB MagicGate (Made in China) << Dont know if this is the problem
UlaunchELF v4.16 on CD-R with 100MB dummy file << works fine and loads up in my ps2
    USB Drive (FAT32)

Any help in creating this exploit for my memory card would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you.

Try disabling the modchip and the BOOT.ELF should run ok. When booting Free McBoot on a chipped console, you have to take in account both are attempting to boot according to eachs own instructions. Only one should be booting to ensure a good boot process.
    PS2 Consoles:
    SCPH-30001 [V4] - unmodded (2)
    SCPH-30001-R [V5] DMS4 Pro SE
    SCPH-50001-N [V9] CC 2.0 SLE
    SCPH-79001 [V16] Silver - unmodded

Did u mean to say u installed FMCB v1.5 or just copied it? Did the installation say successful? I had issues of Ulaunch not starting if some disc was not present on the drive. Try with a valid/patched disc on ur drive.

Also u may want to try putting a RESCUE.ELF on the root of ur USB and try starting ur PS2.

    Thanks for the quick replies.

I cant disable my chip but i can get hold of a PAL ps2 (slimline), which brings me to the question, If i made the exploit on a PAL ps2 (fat), will it run on a PAL ps2 (slimline)?

It should, but if the normal install doesnt work, try the multi-install version.

i got it working on my modchipped ps2!

all i did was turn the main power on, then pressed eject (so the tray will open on startup) and the ps2 booted ulaunchelf on my memory card.

i have installed the multi-version on my memory card so i can plug it into most PAL ps2's.

thanks for the help, i appreciate it.
