Thx j0bb13 He did a nice job installing Free mc boot for me.
cthj00 got his card and apologized for not having put enough postage on his envelope. All is forgiven since he will reimburse me for the missing postage.

Lol, sorry I don't really value my ps2 MC's especially that one that I found ran over in the middle of the street.
Just sent TehJawknee some paypal...
Sorry, I guess my postage scale really sucks.
anyways the card works great and thank you.
sorry not even I would scam someone out of 78 cents when they are doing something for me for free.
It may seem like a good idea, but we advertise in the guides and all over the other forums to contact volunteers to install for free, so making them register and have a post count before asking for an install seems a bit much.
I said it before and still think its the best idea is to hold their MC until they have paid the tiny postage requirement to get their card back. Its not like they are being scammed or anything, just sometimes you have to uphold a standard principle.
Installers are ultimately responsible for giving clear instructions, knowing there are those who do not read the rules. The "service" thread is meant to show that the installers are well known and arent out to scam anyone. But it shouldnt be over burdened with too many rules that are really the resposibility of the 2 parties involved.
Ahh, just my 2 cents on the subject. :P

4 cents if we add mine, as I agree.
If we add a post count as a requirement for making requests, then we are just going to raise the rate of redundant posts in the forums. Posts that serve no other purpose than letting the poster qualify for an install request. In time that will inevitably irritate some people and we will have arguments and general bad feelings on the rise. All to no good purpose.
IMO the service should be open for everyone, without qualifications.
But naturally they have to follow the rules for how to make the requests and perform the transactions. And if they are made fully aware of the 'hostage' system I am sure that the majority will comply.
The small minority that still won't comply are just the incorrigibles that nothing works for, and it would be wrong to penalize the majority because of them.
Best regards: dlanor
+ if that would be a rule, FMCB-Spreading is limited... (not good)
THX, god I do not volunteer per post.![]()
I agree that most of the people who have had installed recently did find my adding the following into my rules for shipping useful:
This tells them all they need to know. Meaning, they have put the correct postage and insurance. But as I said, even if I hadn't accidentally let the postman take the envelope, I still would've put him on blast. Only, I would have said "You shorted me on postage and now you have to wait till I get the rest of the postage." In fact, I think I referred to myself as an "MC Terrorist" because I was gonna hold cards hostage. Simply letting them know that the whole community will know should be enough for them to care.Originally Posted by TehJawknee

i agree too... though postage seems to be a bit easier over here...

Does anyone know if Pepsi is still involved with the FMCB free install programme? Sent him a message on Monday and haven't heard anything since. I know people dont sit on the forum bashing F5 all day, and I dont want to come across as an impatient ungrateful 'noob', just wondering if he is still involved etc.
Thanks
