And even if you have a slim, you can easily find a friend or somebody and install it, it only takes roughly 10 minutes for the whole process!!! Check up on my guides, I'm posting some tonight (aug 9, 08).
Here where i live, is not easy to find gameshark, even the game stores in here dont sell it, only games, consoles, and pelican/madcatz stuff

But you can install for other regions too? Or only US?
Well, anyway postage from/for other country is expensive I think.
I live in Brazil and have a 90010 (Mexico) console, and don't know ANYbody with a modded Mexico unit to build a MC for me. Just US and JAPAN.
Why do I like games? Well... Only there I can do impossible things and my mind believes that's real.

@AndreMR: Get the MCID of your MC and try "Neme's Embedder/Embedding-Tools".

With that, you can create a valid osdmain.elf on your PC, but you need to get the mcid for your MC.
This means, you also need a way to run homebrew.

I was wonderin' why do we need a console to build MCID. If there was a way to get unique number form my memory card using US modded PS2, and build MCID with a Windows tool, with DVDELF from my region (Mexico/Latin America)... I could get a valid MCID for my model.

I'm not sure about that, because the MCID might differ.
I think you must be able, to get the MCID also on the same region.
Codebreaker & Co. might be your last choice.

yeah im pretty sure postage to other countries are rather expensive though im not sure its only a memory card and they dont weigh all that much would be something worth looking into...as for waiting for the newest version thats upto the person wanting it done they can either wait for the new version or just say to heck with it and get it done now then upgrade themselves.

If someone just sends you the memory card, might your install not work on their PS2? Maybe they have a newer slim model, or an older fat model from 8 years ago... Doesn't FMCB need to read the PS2's BIOS that it's installing on, so it will have the correct files?

No. It only needs the same MG-Region.
The last 2digits of the SCPH-Number show it.

    e.g.: SCPH-70004 = MG-Region 04 (Europe)

The FMCB-Loader fit to the 75KB-DVDPLx from PS2-Slim-Models, so DVDPLx/DVDELF-Dumps from these "PStwo"s should be the best choice for best "experience" with FMCB.
FMCB 1.6 has very short loading-times with these,...

"Multi-Install" should work on all PS2-Versions of the same MG-Region.

So on the FMCB GUI, you do have to use "Multi-Version" install instead of "Normal Install" to be sure it will work on all PS2s? What is the disadvantage of this?

I have always used "Normal Install" on my cards which are only used on the PS2 on which I installed.

    Thanks

The boot-time might be a few milli-seconds longer, but afaik that's it.
    I couldn't find any disadvantages.
But you should remember, that the files beside osdmain.elf are dummies.
All files-names, which are shown link to the same files (sectors on mc).
