Another thing.... OT :S sorry.
What kind of media does PS2 run, DvD+ or -?
Thanks fly out to H4ndy. :)
Got my MC today. All working fine and he sent it back really fast.
I doubt that there is any truth in that. I have made over a hundred ESR backup discs on -R media, and they all work perfectly on my slim v15 PSTwo (SCPH-77004).Quote:
it has been said that -r for the phat PS2 and +r for the slims..
The only +R discs I ever tried were some DVD+R DL discs, which I tried to use for making ESR backups of DL games, but the resulting discs would not boot correctly on either my fat v7 or my slim v15, though they were readable to uLE FileBrowser with 'mcard' ESR variant active. But the boot failure was probably due to bad media quality, as I couldn't get hold of Verbatim +R DL discs at the time. In any case, this failure was identical for both slim and fat console...
I do the same, and the only problem I have had with a disc working only on one of the console types was again with some DL discs.Quote:
all i know is i have a phat and use -r and have not had any troubles ...
Those were Verbatim DVD-R DL discs, which I used for ESR backups of two DL games. And those backups would only boot on the fat console, but on the slim v15 they were not even readable in uLE (with 'mcard' ESR). So my conclusion is that the v15 laser simply can not handle -R DL reading at all. But that has NOTHING to do with its suitability for single layer -R access, since that is a completely different deal (laser-intensity etc).
