[Help] USB support
Okay, I'm really at a loss here. Generally I'm the type that figures stuff out on my own, and helps others in need. I've tried everything I can think of, so I'm turning to you guys.
FMCB won't display .elf files stored in mass:/.
What I've tried:
Confirmed all paths are correct and case sensitive.
Updated USBD.IRX with ULE USBD IRX SVN, in both mc0:/BOOT/ and mc0:/SYS-CONF/ directories.
Tested 2 different USB storage devices (both known to work on every other .elf I use).
Tested .elf files via ULE.
PS2 SCPH-75001 NTSC (also have v7 that I haven't used to test)
FREEMCB.ELF v1.7 unofficial (wont upgrade unless absolutely nessisary)
Files will display if put in mc0:/, but don't seem to like mass:/. I've tried switching up the paths (mass as path1), but it didn't help at all. If anybody can help me figure this out I would greatly appreciate it. I'm hoping there is an easy fix, such as a compatible USBD.IRX, or CNF file.
name_OSDSYS_ITEM_6 = SNES Game Loader
path1_OSDSYS_ITEM_6 = mc0:/BOOT/SNES.ELF
path2_OSDSYS_ITEM_6 = mass:/EMU/SNES/SNES.ELF
path3_OSDSYS_ITEM_6 = mc?:/B?DATA-SYSTEM/SNES.ELF
name_OSDSYS_ITEM_7 = SEGA Game Loader
path1_OSDSYS_ITEM_7 = mc0:/BOOT/SEGA.ELF
path2_OSDSYS_ITEM_7 = mass:/EMU/SNES/SEGA.ELF
path3_OSDSYS_ITEM_7 = mc?:/B?DATA-SYSTEM/SEGA.ELF
name_OSDSYS_ITEM_8 = NES Game Loader
path1_OSDSYS_ITEM_8 = mc0:/BOOT/NES.ELF
path2_OSDSYS_ITEM_8 = mass:/EMU/SNES/NES.ELF
path3_OSDSYS_ITEM_8 = mc?:/B?DATA-SYSTEM/NES.ELF
name_OSDSYS_ITEM_9 = GBC Game Loader
path1_OSDSYS_ITEM_9 = mc0:/BOOT/GB.ELF
path2_OSDSYS_ITEM_9 = mass:/EMU/GB/GB.ELF
path3_OSDSYS_ITEM_9 = mc?:/B?DATA-SYSTEM/GB.ELF
That is most likely your main problem.

Your request for help without having to upgrade to a modern version is somewhat like someone calling a WinXP hotline to ask for help with Win95...
I'm not necessarily saying that all problems will go away just because you upgrade, but some of them will do so, and another thing that will go away is our reluctance to give advice on an obsolete program version that most of us have not touched in a very long time, so that we may not even remember all relevant details that could help you.
But for the new version that we use ourselves every day, we will be more able and therefore also more eager to help you.

Thanks man, I probably shouldn't have posted cause I pretty much knew that would be the response I got (minus the flaming). I had just hoped I was missing something simple that I was unaware of, so I could avoid installing it again. Appreciate the help though.

UPDATE 2: After messing around for a while longer with the FREEMCB.CNF, I finally decided to try using the GUI CNF editor (I had removed it in v1.7 so the kids wouldn't mess anything up). As far as the code goes, it changed nothing. However, after physically pointing FMCB at the .elf files stored on my USB drive, then saving, it was able to recognize them. Seems this post wasn't in vain, if anybody has this problem now, they can fix it if they find this post. Also, might be something for the developers to keep in mind if they are still working on new versions.
why are you even bothering to ask for help on some bastardized unofficial FMCB 1.7? Last time I checked, only the official releases are supported here. take that shit somewhere else or install the official FMCB 1.8b
Hey woah, wanna calm down buddy. Read the UPDATES, this same problem exists in 1.8b (in other words I did upgrade). You should be thanking me for potentially helping somebody else who comes across this problem. Not judging me for which homebrew apps I prefer. In the same sense everybody who uses uLaunchelf is using a bastardized version of the original authors program, but I don't see you getting mad at any of them. Is there something more personal I'm missing here, against unofficial FMCB 1.7? There must be, in order to make you people I respected so much (up until a couple posts ago), act so childishly. I realize that you're an admin, and this post will probably get me an undeserved ban from the forums (where I come only to try to help others). This is the first time I've ever asked for help here, and it will probably be my last considering the responses I got. All arguments aside, since I have upgraded, there should be no need for further discussion about unofficial 1.7 on my part.

NOT MY TORRENT!!!!!!!
It was that mother ****er JESUSoCHRIST/THESAVIOR that butchered FMCB 1.7, called it his own, and then used my name for the torrents. GET RID OF THAT SHITTY BUGGED SOFTWARE. Only used the official ones located here or SKSApps.
And you will be banned if you ever seek support on that bugged shit version again here.
edit - finally read your post. your banned anyways. smartass.
