I have a bit of a problem with my memorycard(s). I have 2 with freemcboot 1.8b on (each is an 8mb sony card). One is using multi and the other console specific. My PS2 model is a SCPH 390001. Now my issue is a rather strange one. especially since i havent found one other person on the net with this problem. What happens is when i start up my PS2 the Free MCboot logo shows up for a quick second but then just restarts to the same logo screen over and over with no end. Happens on both memory cards. Funny thing is if i put in one of my backups ESR auto launches it and i can STILL access the Free MCboot options if i hold start right as the logo comes up. Which still enables me to use Ulaunchelf to load my homebrew apps but im getting extremely frustrated that i can't get to the main FCMB browser. If there's anyone that can help me out i would be SOOOOO appreciative. Any other information you might need just ask i and i will deliver.

edit: oh and i forgot to mention i've reinstalled freemc boot on BOTH CARDS so please do not even try suggesting that as it's pointless. Also the multi console card works on other ps2's.

I had this problem while I dicking about with FMCB, I had osdsys set to autoboot. Try holding start when boot your PS2 and change E1 Launch keys, you may see at top 'Autoboot: mc?:/sys-conf/osdsys.elf' or something similar. If not, double check all the other E? launch options

Thanks for the suggestion. But it seems to have no effect. First time i tried the settings wouldnt change after looking in FMCB config again. But the 2nd and third time i tried and the settings stuck. But to no avail. Think maybe there's something physically wrong with the ps2? because once again i tested the multi boot card and it works just fine on other ps2s. (other ps2s that were tested on are versions scph 30001 & scph 50001)

Try unplugging any USB drives that may be connected to the PS2. More generally, try to boot the PS2 in the most simple configuration possible, to eliminate any external cause.

I believe that was the very first thing i tried (in both memory card ports mind you). I tried with simply the memory card/controller plugged in and thats when i noticed the issue. I had to start using the options from the .CNF to load ulaunch. Only way i can get the software to work properly is by using Ulaunch during the logo screen and loading my apps from a usb thumbdrive. I've pretty much tested with the most basic of configurations and nothing seems to make a difference. It seems to me either something in my configuration file is wrong or the ps2 itself. And im highly doubting its a problem with the actual ps2.
