white screen of death when trying to load GTA 3 using OPL .9 and USBUTIL

ive been trying all day to get GTA 3 to work and it just keeps freezing at the white screen (debug colors)
i used USBUTIL to put it on my flash drive and also tried on an external usb hard drive
OPL warns the game is fragmented even though i have run power defragmenter and it says its been defragged...
i have patched the game in usbutil for ioprp23 but it hasnt helped...
i also tried to burn the game to DVD on media i have burned other games with successfuly and it still wouldnt load.
it just goes to a black screen...and yes i did the ESR patch

so basically ive tried everything i can think of...
did i miss something? please help!! i need my GTA 3!!

nevermind i figured it out... stupid power defragmenter is the reason.... used auslogics disk defrag and it works good now!
