I don't know if this is known or not, but I've discovered that if I load a game from the HDD, OPL sets the slot 1 VMC to both slots (I have it set for Slot 1: VMC Slot 2: MC). This doesn't happen with ETH game loading.

Yeah I noticed this last night. Thankfully my other memory card didn't get corrupted.
Hmm.. it corrupts the data by doing that? I wonder if that's why my MC saves became corrupted while I was testing some games the other night also. I don't remember the order I was doing things when it happened.
Though, I do play games from ETH and HDD, but only a couple on HDD. I have those set as Slot 1 MC Slot 2 VMC. I switch back and forth between HDD and ETH without any corruption, and it does not automatically change the VMC settings when I go from ETH to HDD.

It's a known issue that having a memory card in the same slot that OPL is using as VMC has a chance to corrupt the physical card. Before development staled a bit I was hoping the smart people would add a check in the loader to warn you to remove the memory card first but afaik doctorxyz is one of the only people even working on OPL anymore.
Ok have to say something about that people do not get the wrong idea it will only corrupt you MC with a select few games and the games will not save properly to VMC as well is what causes the problem and BTW it was reported a while ago

BTW if VMC slot 2 it will not show on VMC slot 1

Is how all good gaming systems came to beI was unaware it was only with certain games, my bad.
It's paranoia about this sort of thing that causes me to use a separate VMC for every game and only use a PMC when absolutely required. That and the limited number of write cycles inherent in non-volatile storage media...
That's a shame. Maybe I'd better implement Plan B...
