Virtual Memory card save error OPL 0.91
Virtual Memory card save error OPL 0.91 –
Hello everyone, I am having issues getting VMC's to work. I am loading my games off SMB with read/write permissions and OPL can create the memory cards themselves but every game I have tried gives an error when trying to save.
It detects the VMC but gives fails to save. I'm using an 8mb VMC that I created from OPL, both custom named and generic. I've tried it with four different games, (.hack part 1, ssx tricky, champions of norrath, and GTA:SA) all SLUS, I've tried to find a VMC compatibility list but haven't been too successful, about the only game of the lot I had seen someone else speak of was San Andreas, which was reported as working. This makes me think its got to be something on my end not being setup correctly.
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm using OPL 0.91 main fork from the sticky on the site, I've also tried OPL 0.8 with no success.
It's weird, I picked up a harddrive today and got it installed and the virtual memory cards work on the internal, so I'm not sure what was wrong with my Ethernet setup.
This is just a guess but I'd suspect either (a) Windows 7's permissions aren't set correctly or (b) anti-virus lets VMC creation and reads fly but blocks writes ...
I assume the SMB share is a Windows 7/8 client because WinXP SP3 is far less anal regarding network file-shares ...
