Using OPL on a secondary partition (USB)

Hey, sorry if this is a n00b question, but can I use a secondary partition to store and play PS2 isos from?

This is my setup: I'm using a 320GB 3200AAK WD external drive, partitioned into two. The first partition is WBFS formatted (for my Wii backups) and is 220GB in size. The second partition is 100GB in size, and is FAT32 formatted. Can I use the second partition to store and play my PS2 backups from? I've tried already, but OPL just doesn't find any of my isos.

Any constructive comments welcome.

Yes you can, but to find the correct partition, we focus only on the ul.cfg file. As you seems to use ISOs you may not have one, so the only thing to do, is creating an empty (0 byte) "ul.cfg" in the root of your second partition.

Be sure to also conform to the correct ISO naming:

This is not related to the ISO naming.

To select the correct partition, there must be a "ul.cfg" file on it. Create it under windows using any text editor, it must just exist, it's content should be empty (0 bytes).

Created ul.cfg with Notepad, and placed it on the root. Opl's still not seeing any games. Is there anything else I cold try?

DVDs must be on a DVD folder on root, CDs on CD folder on root. (if it doesn't work, then the folders must be names DVDS and CDS).

You put the ul.cfg into the second partition, right ? where your PS2 games are.

And you did follow my second recommendation ? Read the guide for the correct ISO naming:

Yeah, I did. I checked my ISO names, and all are correct. I tried the games on a flash drive, and they worked, but loading time are EXTREMELY slow. Is there a chance that my Hard drive's not compatible or something? Or maybe it's because the first partition's WBFS formatted.

I tried installing the games using USBExtreme (ul.cgf, .01, .02, etc) but that didn't work either...

First sentence of mothmanex is corerct, and is just what is explained in the guide. Second part is false, there are no "DVDS/CDS".

Either you use the ul format (usbutil/usbadvance/extrem), and then your ISO files are splitted in multiple files, using a coding scheme with the game code + CRC, these files are in the root of your partition.

Or you use the ISO directly, without any modification on it, and in this case it must be well named (if you make an error they won't appear in the list OR they won't run if you used a bad game code), and put into CD or DVD folder.

What happen if you use uLaunchELF, and browse your usb disk ? What do you see (partition) ? Can you see the content of the partition containing the PS2 games ?
