USBUtil, USBExtreme AND USB Insane will not install games ANYMORE!!!
USBUtil, USBExtreme AND USB Insane will not install games ANYMORE!!! –
Hi I just recently started using OpenPS2Loader, and everything was working perfect for the past week. Today I was creating an iso for a game just to see if that method would work (External usb was plugged in) and the computer crashed!!. I had USB Insane open at the time, but it was not installing anything. It might've been, but 95% it wasn't. Well anyways, after I rebooted my computer, I tried to install ANY game (even ones that worked before) and then I would get an error that says:
USB Insane v0.1:
Title Bar: *external drive* *name of game I WOULD be installing in ul. format* (ex. E;\foaswhfoishdoifah
Description: ERROR: Couldn't open file %s
Result: Program crash
USBUtil v2.00 w/ DNAS 2.1:
Title Bar: UsbUtil
Description: I/O Error 82
Result: Won't install
I won't try USBExtreme, because that won't help me with my problem. It just won't install any games anymore. I opened USBExtreme, and it told me one of my games were corrupt, and asked me if i wanted to delete. I said yes, and something along the lines of "unnamed cannot be found" came up... Whatever. Once I figure out the problem, I will re-install the game.
I've tried this on both of my computers. I REALLYYYYYYYYYYYY do not want to re-install every game again. I don't mean to be a bug and sound like every other person in need of help, but "helppppp pleasee help me please." Lol. I REALLY don't (like I said before) don't want to re-install every game. If I drag and drop them and re-format the harddrive, I don't even know if the games will run again. Just my guess, because it wasn't done the proper way? Grr.
EDIT: Just tried to see if games would work, and games still play. It's just installing them.

Why should it wouldnīt work ??? My games are all in .iso (all = under 4GB limitation + "JAK and Daxter I" for the compatibility)....
...Today I was creating an iso for a game just to see if that method would work (External usb was plugged in)...
Yes they will run. You need the "ul.cfg" that is in the root of your HDD.
If I drag and drop them and re-format the harddrive, I don't even know if the games will run again.
And if you lost the ul.cfg, doesnt matter, with USBUtil you can rescan your HDD to make a new ul.cfg.......
But donīt forget to defragment the HDD if you drag&drop the games back......
I apologize and i dont mean to sound rude when i say this but if you dont know what your talking about then please dont speak. If that was really the problem then i would look like an idiot.....
The games are not in iso format when they are installed.... Everyone knows that. Its the better way to do it because there is no silly 4gb limit. This isnt no "drag and drop iso's" b.s. lol. Whatever format my 30 something games r in were made by installing through usbextreme for physicals and usb insane for iso. Playing off iso's suck lol. But anyways if someone with knowledge of the programs please help. And dont tell me about defrag. I stated tht in my first post, and it didnt help my game installation situation at all.
Did you try a chkdsk <name of the drive>
This feel like a corruption of the FAT to me.
