Hi all. I' m trying to use a VERBATIM 1.5TB 3.5'' EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE USB 2.0, compatible with usb1.1, and make it work with open usb loader 0.6. I think i did everything right (formatted the hhd through windows in NTFS, then FAT32 with ul_format). The prob is that the games in the hdd are visible in USBADVANCE but in open ps2 loader it keeps showing "no items". Soz for my bad english. Any help could be appreciated.
As the games do show in USBAdvance this proves that your drive is correctly formatted and the games correctly installed, so if the games still can't be shown in "Open PS2 Loader" (this is the correct name), then it probably means that its USB driver is not compatible with your drive. It is very rare that a drive which works with USBAdvance and its ancient drivers fails to work with the much improved new drivers, but it does happen for some rare drive types...Quote:

The optimal solution is to move his post and yours to a new one in the proper subforum. I've already deleted two threads identiacal to this one. I'm not wanting to do more. :)
Its a possibility that particular HDD just isnt compatible with Open PS2Loader, as im sure there will be some devices that just arent going to work.
But before assuming its incompatible, try other apps that can access a USB device and see how they react, such as FMCB, uLaunchELF & SMS. These apps all have recent updated USB drivers like Open PS2Loader, so they should have a common compatibility.
If these other apps work ok, then it might be an issue fixable thru formatting and re-installations. But if these other apps also fail to read the device, then its safe to assume its probably an incompatible device to use.

I agree, since my IDE to USB it works fined with USBA and Open PS2 Loader rev62 and it work fine with SMS and other apps. But when I used the Open PS2 Loader v5 and 6 it display the games but it does'nt load or play the game. it freezed on yellow or white screen. I reformat many times, I defrag many times, i use ule_install and USBUtility 2.2 but same results.
hiya Mousxaros , i had the same problem with no games showing up. I fixed the problem and games show up now , the problem was the USB Hard Drive was not in a Primary Partiton .........i used Partiton Magic to change it.............maybe try that

Well, Dlanor you are right about the manufacturing issue. Thats why when I plug in the HDD in the pc, it shows SAMSUNG HD154UI USB, in the device manager. I dont know how this affects compatibility.
Also it turns out the is another prob. Although games appear in USBadvance, when I try to run them it goes to black screen. Also in ulaunchelf when I choose "mass" it shows nothing, even when there are files inside.
I tried partition magic as S8N suggested but the partition is already primary.
It looks like the most possible cause is incompatibility of the product. I also have an wd 1TB USB HDD winth 290 games installed, which runs fine both in usbadvance and open ps2 loader.
Thank you all for helping anyway. Perhaps there might be an update or patch in the future to slove te problem.
That clarifies the situation, as uLE and OPNPS2LD use the same generation of USB drivers. Apparently these drivers simply are not compatible with your drive.Quote:

So the main issue is with the USB drivers, and it is they rather than OPNPS2LD that need to be improved in order to fix your problem. Unfortunately that is not likely to happen anytime soon. I'm not aware of anyone doing work specifically for the USB drivers right now.

Yeah..., I' m not greedy. The 1,5 Tb Verbadim was for a friend who is a bit noob and I Just told him the only thing I had to do was a "copy-paste" of all the files in the WD hdd to the Verbadim :(. I guess since so many people use open PS2 loader, sometime in the future there could be an upload of a compatibility list of USB HDDs for this program.
I have a similar problem. I have a 1.5 WD elements drive which does not show games in Open ps2 loader or uLaunch. The Games do show up in USBAdavnced. I tried making a small 10GB partition with the rest as unallocated space and it worked in Open ps2 loader. Might the drivers not support partitioon above 1TB?
