So I've recently upgraded from OPL 0.8 to OPL 0.9 on two of my PS2 consoles, both equipped and intended for internal HDD loading. Everything seems to working fine aside from not being able to save any specific game settings. There are a few games (such as Jak & Daxter) that I require select MODE settings to be enabled to play. I can test my game settings but they simply won't save and immediately switch back to default . This problem persists on both of my PS2 builds (separate consoles, separate HDDs, and separate memory cards).

Is there something I could've done wrong whilst upgrading to 0.9? It didn't even keep my game settings saves from 0.8. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not 100% sure if the folder is create automatically(I think it is) but:
1.Do you have +OPL partition created on the HDD
2.If you do,do you have a folder named CFG(upper case)created in that folder

OPL 0.9 saves the game settings in HDD rather than on the memory card like it was on 0.8(playing games from USB will save the settings in the use, playing games from SMB will save the settings on your pc hdd and playing games from internal hdd,it will save the settings in a partition which you have to create named OPL and in that partition OPL creates a folder named CFG and save the game settings there)

I had to check with uLaunchELF and didn't see anything but a "HDLoader Settings" folder. I formatted both HDDs with WinHIIP. Would this "+OPL" be a folder or a partition and how would I go about creating it?

Use uLE filebrowser misc HddManager and R1 create a partition Named OPL it will add the + auto + stands for user partition

FYI if that is a new HD make it the first partition OPL will load faster

If you want WinHIIP with fresh format change __main change to +OPL must add the plus and set size for both methods

Ok, well I'll go with a reformat to get +OPL as the first partition. I'd rather have an optimal setup and get it over with. What size would you recommend for the _main/+OPL partition? I plan on getting a theme or two for OPL with as much cover art as possible. Is this partition where those items would be stored? I have a 320gb HDD, how much percentage of that would you say I should devote to this +OPL partition?

    Thanks for the help!

I'm don't know if you can create this partition with WinHIIP....I've never done it so I may be wrong(partition starting with + are user created by ule and you are not using for a name +OPL but just OPL)

You just have to do what Rand said....start ule=>go to MISC=>HDDManager=>wait to load the hdd=>press R1=>create the partition and for a name use just OPL

The size depends entirely to you(128mb minimum)...I set it to 128mb because I only use it for art and game settings which don't require much space

I went for max to store VMC CNF themes and other software besides OPL mine is 4096Mb with WinHIIP but mine is 500G so up to you have noticed on my smaller HD
if smaller OPL will load faster but only a sec or 2

BTW if you use WinHIIP and are not going to use OSD browser boot and probably not many people don't drop all in WinHIIP to 0 Mb

I can confirm this worked! Game settings are saving just fine. Now I just gotta do the same for the other HDD and apply some themes with cover art and OPL should be good to go.

    Thanks for the help!
