    Hey.
Havenīt checked in for a while, but I have a quick question.

Back like one year ago, I tried to run the Baldurs Gate games and Champions of Norrath with OPL. But as I recall. These games suffered a lot of game-breaking stuttering, wether you gamed it from usb or smb, they stuttered anyway.

Has this issue been fixed, or are these games still unplayable due to stuttering?

    Have a great day

    for the 1000th time...

STUTTERING IS NOT FIXABLE THROUGH USB. USB IS SLOW. IT'S A HARDWARE LIMITATION. IT CANNOT BE FIXED THROUGH SOFTWARE.

Iīm not really the picky type when it comes to answering people on internet forums. After all, itīs just an internet forum.
But your blatant, stupid answer is absolutely giving nothing. Did you even read what I wrote? Iīll explain further.

I have been into PS2-modding for some years. I run my games through SMB with fantastic game compatibility, no stuttering, almost 90-100% game compatibility.

But there are quite a few games that OPL has have a hard time run. Some of those are:
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2
    Champions of Norrath
    Champons: Return to Arms

What these four games have in common, is something that does not show up in other games. These games have since the beginning have "INGAME STUTTERING". Not just in the movies, but INGAME STUTTERING and LAGGY GAMEPLAY. These are THE ONLY GAMES that stuttered for me when i started using OPL. And they also did so one year ago.

    However.
My question is, has progess been made in tweaking OPL to run these games yet?
I am really looking forward to run these games, so I would be most delighted if this was the case!

    Sincerely
    Bozon

Actually, I didnīt get my question answered. =/
Has there been any progress in fixing the laggy gameplay (FROM SMB) in the following games? I was looking forward to play them this weekend.

    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2
    Champions of Norrath
    Champons: Return to Arms

I have make some tests with ps2 and Ulaunch to finde out some things.
I have a PS2 V7 since 2004. When i copy a file for example 500 MB (it is on all test the same file)
then i arrive with my DVD drive (from PS2 DVD 4x Max speed 5 MB/sec) Max 2 MB/sec. At normay my drive had a performance (from ulaunch) with 1,5 MB/sec. The drive is very old but works slow but good.
I copy the same file from USB (160 GB HDD) and i arrive a Speed 1,4 MB/sec.
I thin the speed is nearly the same.
When you play a gam i thin the average speed is much slower as the max speed from the drive.
When i play the game Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance from DVD you can see that sometime the drive is slow and when the drive on game play load the game character runs on a black backround but
you have not a stutter. Wehen you play along the ps2 load the backround but the game do not stutter. And you can play along without stutter ever.
I think here is the load core form USB the problem. It have a other load priority as the PS2 from DVD.
I think here is not the USB speed the problem!!!!

I hate to bump an old thread, but the search option led me here. I also have the same problem with these titles, both stuttering and the laggy gameplay, however the only difference is, I'm playing from the HDD.

I'm using OPL 0.9.1, and have pretty much tried every mode/combo I can think of. Still no luck. I can however, play all of these titles just fine when using HDLoader 0.8c. Thing is, I'd rather use OPL exclusively, you know?

Just wondering pretty much if a fix has been found, or at best, a few new ideas I may have overlooked in the game settings of OPL?

    Thanks.

seeing as you are using the latest OPL version then i would say you have answered your own question.
there are a few games that play on HDLoader better then OPL so just keep both around. different tools for different jobs.....lol you can screw in a Philips head screw with a flat blade but a Philips head does a better job....

Heard that! Thanks for the reply.

Collectively between versions 0.8 & 0.9 of OPL, as well as HDL, I've only been using a PS2 HDD for about a month now, and regardless of what app I have to use, it's just opened a whole new world to the PS2 gaming experience.

    Thanks again.

A little bump as I havenīt been on here for a couple of months. I was wondering if there have been any kind of progress in getting these games to run in-game lag-free? Any new tweaks to OPL to make this happen?

    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance
    Baldurs Gate: Dark Alliance 2
    Champions of Norrath
    Champons: Return to Arms

They are fantastic games. Would be amazing if they could be playable (without in-game lag) OPL.
