SMB Issues - FMV Stuttering (Final Fantasy X-2) / Savegame Crash (.hack//Infection)
SMB Issues - FMV Stuttering (Final Fantasy X-2) / Savegame Crash (.hack//Infection) –
Good morning everyone,
I've been playing with OPL for a few days now and it's brought my old PS2s back to life! But a handful of my games are having some issues. I've done some digging through the forums and seen a few references to the Final Fantasy X-2 issue (none with solutions), but haven't found anything about .hack.
I'm currently running the most recent OPL revision (freshly compiled this morning), and I'm running Samba on a Linux server, with a Linksys WRT54GL connecting it to the PS2s (I've got both a phat and a slim). Both PS2s are experiencing the same issues which rules out a specific PS2, the router can easily transfer at several MB/s when testing through a PC, and I've tried pretty much every Samba tweak I can think of. I've also tried all the different mode switches in OPL itself, both using version 0.8 and the fresh compile.
For FFX-2, the opening FMV stutters. Measuring the network speed, it seems to top out at about 800-900kb/s during the FMV. After the FMV is over, the game plays fine, and seems to spike at 2mb/s briefly when downloading, so perhaps this one is purely an issue with the game rather than a setup issue?
For .hack//Infection, whenever you try to save the game when using a VMC, it basically freezes. For those familiar with the game, I've tried saving both "offline" and "online" (i.e., from directly inside The World), both resulting in the same outcome. Should I be trying crazyc's version of OPL for this type of issue? Looking through the commit history it appeared as only the main fork was being updated at the moment but I may have misread that.
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can offer!
