SMB fail - Can't establish network! Network adapter issues?
I just received a network adapter (model: SCPH-10350). I have a hitachi HDD (320GB) and connected this to the adapter and then to the PS2.
First I thought that the model was a fake one, but if I'not mistaken the model was released by Sony on the Japanese markets. It only holds one port: ethernet.
Now my problem is, I can't establish a connection using:
- HDL Dump and the server
I setup my PC correctly (sharing named PS2SMB, ipv4, ip-address etc., I have done this before on a slim model) and the PS2 as well.
The funny thing is, as soon as I start 'network start' in OPL my lan connection in networkcentre (windows 7) disappears, and only comes back when I restart my computer.
The same happens when I start HDL server ELF. (it says it cant load an IRX or sth) and the lanconnection on my pc disappears
Now I wonder what the problem might be?
- Do I first have to install the original software that came with network adapter?
- Should the lights on the adapter be blinking at some point?
- Is the network adapter not compatible with my pal ps2 39004?
- Is my crossover cable broken, and how could I check this?
ps. I installed a game onto my HDD using HDLoader and it works like a charm. Hope someone can help me out!
