I don't know if this is any help to anyone but after running extensive Open PS2 Loader testing on an unmodded ps3 60gb with swapmagic 3.8+ (Swapmagic 3.6+ not compatible with the PS3) I've noticed that version 0.5 works better than the new ones as anything 0.6+ refuses to read game data and chucks up disk read errors. 0.5 doesn't do that however i have noticed 2 bugs with it, firstly is some text display errors like DJ Decks & FX House edition that won't display details properly. the other thing is the loading times if the games as it's affecting playback of all FMV's reguardless of what game it is even the games take about 1 min to load from startup and about 20-30 seconds for each section. If these bugs can be fixed and if whatever code 0.5 has that makes the games load on the ps3 work can be implemented to 0.8 or 0.9 that would be great!

    I doubt about that.

1st - USB is operating at 1.1 Specification... which is 12mb/s speed
2nd - Network is at 10mb/s which is slightly worst than USB can do.

Due to Hardware limitation while you're in PS2 Mode. No one can do it. It's only possible if you hack the PS3 firmware itself.

    ----------------------------

The only thing that can play PS2 games that runs at full speed is using a CFW (JFW, if it ever released) and a Cobra USB. Which is only working in hackable firmwares (3.41 and 3.55)
    Model: CECHC04 PAL/EUR 60GB SKU Console
Firmware: REBUG 3.55 CFW [DEBUG MODE, DEBUG XMB, MENU OPTION 2]
BM: Iris Manager v1.2 (Hermes Syscall8)

0.8 works fine on my CECHC03 apart from the slow network speed which I've made a thread about.

No, it's 100mb/s (on a PS2 at least). The fact that you can exceed ~1MB/s with hdl_dump proves this. I'm pretty sure the throughput on the PS3 is higher than 10mb/s also.

mine isn't cfw compatible since it's an older cech03 model
What gives you this idea, all PS3s pre 3.56 are compatible with CFW. The only CFW that wasn't compatible with your model was Waninkoko's V1 which bricked 256MB NAND consoles.

I can't use network mode since it doesn't work at all for mine. it always moans on v0.6, v0.7 and v0.8 that the disk always has an error reading from the usb hard drive, 0.5 doesn't do that at all. it does load everything apart from the minor bugs I mentioned earlier. my console had the latest ofw when I got it which is 3.66.

i own ps2 not ps3, but assuming it works the same on a ps3 as a ps2, i would highly recommend you try PS2ESDL:
