    At the moment, I have Version 1.8 of Free Mc Boot, so possibly the newest Open ps2 Loader I think, anyways, I have tested about 3 games and I am having major problems, so I am gonna test each game I have and list the problem, cause I know I will have more, here are the games listed so far (btw, I loaded all these games using HDLOADER .08c but of course play/test them on Open ps2 loader (all games on HDD, not USB);

    - Justice League (Map is not fully loaded, black empty ground)
    SLES_544.23
    - FF VII - Dirge (I have had many tries to get in game, and at various times, I luckily can, though it freezes no more then 1 minute into play time. Like, for example, I would be walking and all of a sudden I would walk into an invisible wall while the music is being looped, and at every step I hit another invisible wall, it's like the HDD or Graphics card refuses to load the environment anymore and crashes the game.)
    SLUS_214.19
    - Marvel Alliance (Glitched, meaning no sound when moving/preforming actions, and buggy, pressing select will crash the game)
    SLES_541.23
    - Xmen Legends 2 – (No sound, when that happens, pressing start crashes the game, basically when your going around and fighting.)
    SLES_533.74
    - Castlevania: Curse of Darkness- (Just tried to load a save file, black screen when press 'Continue')
    SLES_537.55
    - Dawn of Mana - (So far pressing "Select chapter" freezes the game, and you here a peice of music like one note, being looped. Tried to continue where I left off, Black screen.)
    SLUS_215.74
-- Castlevania and Dawn of Mana have the same issues.
    - Suikoden III - (Black screen.....)
    SLUS_203.87
    - Valkyrie 2 - (Can't press New Game or continue without it crashing and giving me a black screen.)
    - Shadow of the Collusus - (Freezes at the splash screen where there is a horse and the gam eis made by europe or something.)
    - Romancing Saga - (Get to the Menu screen where you select "New game" or "continue", music loops every 5 seconds and crashes when you want to press either the two options.)

So yeah, so far those games aren't working for me, have more but not on the HDD, will keep this list updated.

I can only guess your game is corrupted, bad rip or some other issue.

I can play this game just fine from HDD, USB and SMB with OPLv0.8.

USB is a bit laggy, but only in the Intro and FMVs and it is a light stutter.

These games just have been double checked by one of our trustworthy tester. They all work on HDD, revision 577:

    SLES_541.23 - Marvel Alliance - HDD - rev 577 - works
    SLUS_211.38 - Xmen Legends 2 – HDD - rev 577 - works
    SLES_537.55 - Castlevania: Curse of Darkness – HDD - rev 577 - works
    SLUS_215.74 - Dawn of Mana - HDD - rev 577 - works
    SLUS_203.87 - Suikoden III - HDD - rev 577 - works

    Are you using VMC ?

What is rev 577 ? And VMC is set to generic. Are you able to point me to what should be set, because everything is set to the default settings. Just tried to re-rip the game to the HDD, still no luck....

Rev 577 is the latest Beta Revision in the OPL Repository, where the devs place fixes/updates to the source files and Beta testers go to compile it for testing.

Have you tried the games without VMC?
VMC might be incompatible with some games too and could cause issues, especially if you set it to format a large VMC like 64.

Have you tried ripping the games to PC with DVD Decrypter/IMGBurn first, then install to HDD with HDL Dump or Winhiip?
Ripping directly to the PS2 HDD might be the cause of the problem.

Right now I am going to Rip the game to the HDD and then plug in my Ps2 HDD to the PC. Hopefully it works. Btw, FFVII did work, got it to work, but it crashed like 1 minute into playing. So yeah lol, will see how this goes.

Well, I got more games that don't work, nothing has worked so far, ripped the games to the PC and used winhipp to put them on the HDD. Maybe my HDD is corrupted on those sectors the game is installed on coincidentally ? It's funny, some games like Valkyrie 2 and Shadow of the Collusus are having the same problems that people had when they didn't apple a "trick" or a "patch" of some sorts. Seeing as OPL 0.8 is the latest and has been proven to work for these games, I got no clue. It's like I have OPL 0.1 compatiability for games even though I have OPL 0.8. I tried HDL 0.8c as well (and did the psone controller trick on Valk). I am cluless.

It very well may be that particular drive as the problem or it might be the drive your ripping your games to, as i discovered a little something, here i just posted about it in the Compatibility Thread.

Yeah, I am using a WD2000 model, 200 GB. I am thinking of buying a completely new HDD, since I did actually grab this HDD I am using second hand off my cousin, didn't have anything on it, and just chucked it in and let HDL 0.8c format the Drive. Even though my cousin says he kept the HDD well and new I might just buy another and see what happens. I'll let you know.

EDIT: Romancing Saga (the RPG) dosen't work as well. Damn, >_<
