PS1 games on OpenPS2Loader-SMB

I use OpenPS2Loader via SMB with my PS2 games without a problem. However, with PS1 games I have not succeeded. Does anyone know what the problem is?

The problem is that the program is called Open PS2 Loader PS2 meaning "PlayStation 2".

Yes it's only meant to PlayStation 2 games. Won't work with your Dreamcast games neither will cook for you.

Jokes apart, you don't really read anything about it, did you ?

Yes, the problem is that using PS1 games with PS2 software is impossible.
No PS2 game loader can run PS1 games.

There are strong technical reasons why it is impossible, but we explain this several times a day to newcomers, and I don't feel like doing it again right now. So if you really want to read about that, just search for those older posts yourself.

But it is wasted time as there is nothing we can do about it...

The majority would still post their questions without reading any 'stickies', so we would still have to respond in some way to all of them...

And it is not a good idea for any forum to 'overload' on redundant sticky posts, as they will 'stick' for every single page of that forum (except inside threads), making multi-page work awkward. We already have six sticky posts here, which should be enough.

eg: When I go to a new page, the page header and those six stickies take up so much room that I only see seven normal thread titles beneath the stickies, using my normal browser window size. And each new 'sticky' added will reduce the directly visible normal thread titles by one, so I'd rather 'stick' with the current visibility.

But perhaps we could consolidate some of the existing stickies into a new one, with some title like:
'Newcomers MUST read this, or your posts may be IGNORED !!!'

That might help a little bit, with those newcomers that have at least half a brain.
But it still wouldn't help with those medical miracles that seem to survive without any brain at all...
They will always keep posting before reading no matter what we do.

that's too harsh for this circumstance. best thing to do would be ignore these peeps or to have a bit of grace (sometimes) and briefly tell them what is up. otherwise, bootleg can let the pitbulls loose off the leash.

what does SMB stand for?
