    Hey guys, I'm having trouble with the game Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome. After selecting it in OPL, he goes to the "Now Loading" screen and just get stuck there. After searching a lot, I found that most Nippon Ichi (the producer of Makai Kingdom) games suffer from the same problem in OPL, freezing in the loading screen, but I also found that some games that suffered from this problem have been patched and now works(more especifically Disgaea and Phantom Brave, both of Nippon Ichi too). So I ask, is there a way to do the same with Makai Kingdom? and if exists a way to do that, how?

    Thanks in advance

    The fixes are done by the developers and those 'patches' are incorporated into OPL to fix games, nothing you can do but wait until a developer figures it out and fixes it.

    Yes I tried all compatibility modes, then start searching for an answer and found the info I posted in the first post. The part about "patching" is because I found a post in this topic: (Open PS2 Loader Game compatibility)

    There someone says that is possible to use the source of the OPL and copy this patch (I just copied the important part of the .txt):

    +static patchlist_t patch_list[36] = {
    { "SLES_524.58", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Disgaea Hour of Darkness PAL - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    { "SLUS_206.66", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Disgaea Hour of Darkness NTSC U - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    { "SLPS_202.51", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Makai Senki Disgaea NTSC J - disable cdvd timeout stuff

    { "SLPS_203.45", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Phantom Brave NTSC J - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    { "SLPS_203.44", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Phantom Brave (limited edition) NTSC J - disable cdvd timeout stuff

    as you can see, these games all use the same code since the problem is the same, and since Makai Kingdom suffers from this same problem, I thought I could do the same, but since I don't understand too much about patching, I made this topic to look for a answer. So, anyone knows about using the patch posted in that topic?

    Thanks to Jimmi patch framework, if it is so "easy" to fix this game, let's try ...

    PM sent, report us asap (please give me the version - game code - of the game you are using).

    Which method are trying to load the game with OPL (HDD/USB/SMB)?
    I have Makai Kingdom (SLUS_211.70) running fine on SMB with no modes (OPL Rev562).

    I'd send him a modified version, just added the "required" lines:

    Code:
    	{ "SLES_536.90", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome PAL - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    	{ "SLUS_211.70", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Makai Kingdom: Chronicles of the Sacred Tome NTSC U - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    	{ "SLPS_204.10", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Phantom Kingdom NTSC J - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    	{ "SLPS_204.09", USB_MODE, { 0xdeadbee0, 0x00000000, 0x00000000 }}, // Phantom Kingdom (First Print Limited Edition) NTSC J - disable cdvd timeout stuff
    But it doesn't seems to work.

    @imbaimba

    As you can see, all theses fixes are for USB, it is what you are using, right ?

    try defragmenting the game files or maybe try a fresh rip.....or both.
