OPLUtil tool (for Art management, and themes preview)

Can anyone post a definitive list of art, theme, and conf_opl.cfg locations for each supported device?!
It has changed since the original implementation and it took me awhile to guess the locations for internal PS2 HDD. Here is what works for me ATM.

Internal PS2 HDD:
1) Create +OPL partition.
2) Create ART and THM folders.
3) Store covers, BG pic, and disc icons in ART folder
4) Store Themes in their own folder named thm_themename, inside the THM folder
5) Store conf_opl.cfg in root of +OPL partition?? (I'm not sure of this)

Memory Card:
Same as above, but ART and THM folders are in OPL folder??
(Please correct me if I'm wrong.)

I'm not familiar with the USB, or ETH/SMB folder layout/locations.

I'm not sure about the MC-Part (if you can store themes, BG and such there...).
But you can load imiges from every device, which is 'activated' in your config (USB, SMB, HDD).

USB-Root --> put the folders here
SMB-Sharename/PS2SMB (for example) --> Put folders in here
internal PS2-HDD --> +OPL-Partition --> put the folders in this partition

...if I remember correctly. :)

So I guess the only thing from OPL which you need on your MC, are the configs... (and maybe one theme/skin on MC, if you do not have the device where your skin is located at, connected on start-up).

Ahm... Scooby, I think it is much easier to have your system updated than to ask for your old JAVA 5 to work... Just update from here:
java.com: Java + You
Java 6 updates itself automatically, so from now on, you won't have to worry about it.

I have Crazy Taxi installed in iso format in my USB device, with name SLES.XXX.XX.Crazy Taxi.iso together with ICO and TLOTR The Two Towers. Game Information says ICO and TLOTR are ok, but Crazy Taxi puts error on startup. How to fix it? Thanks, oder danke :)

I need that old JAVA on my XP PC.When I install JAVA 5 and 6,my needed Programm ist not working right.

SLES.XXX.XX.Crazy Taxi.iso rename it to
SLES_XXX.XX.Crazy Taxi.iso

Right, it is using JAVA 6, I usually stick to latest java revision (no don't speak me about JAva 7 for now ... first we must decide what to do concerning Oracle OSS policy :p)

By "fixing some errors" I meant fixing naming errors, or errors into the ul.cfg (bad file parts number). But I've abandoned (put aside) the dev of this tool since OPL and other projects take me most of my available time.

Concerning your problem with "Crazy Taxi", make a post into the compat thread, explaining what OPL revision you use, what mode you use (USB/SMB/HDD), what compat mode you tried, if VMC is enabled, what PS2 you have, if you have a modhcip, how you run OPL, and what are the symptoms when it crash (debug colors ? BSOD, ...)

How to use and installation of special Oplutil as OPL theme viewer on a PC (Windows version).

Sorry if my english bad :lol:, and please fix my language if things go wrong :D.

OPLUtil by Izdubar (izdubar.bbln @ gmail.com) this can be made to display the theme in the PC (OPL Theme Preview) which we use in Open PS2 Loader v 0.8.
And OPLUtil (in this revision) support for menu appearance USB_Games, Network_Games, and APPS.

For ease of installation, the program Oplutil placed on the C partition on your PC.

C:\Oplutil\

As in the example image below.

• THM folder is used to save a theme that will be seen how it looks in OPLUtil.

Before using OPLUtil to display the theme, then do the preparation OPLutil settings by clicking Options >> Preferences.
Then adjust the settings as follows:

PS2SMB share: C:\Oplutil\PS2SMB
USB device path: C:\Oplutil\USB
(and for other settings, adjust to your needs.)

And if you want Oplutil read the themes and games that are stored on external hard drive, then to a USB device path set to external hard disk drive letter,
ex. USB device path: G:\

Then click OK, then OPLutil ready to be used to display the theme Open PS2 Loader v 0.8.

Next click the name of the theme that cater to the USB Games menu , and in this example is the Lantern theme, and after it will be like in the example image below.

Now to move the cursor or move to other games menu, then click first on the title game, and then use the directional keys keyboard

Up button [▲] and down [▼], serves to select the item titles/games.
Left button [◄] and right [►] to move the games menu .

And if the game title selected found the art images (examples of art images are included in the folder ART),then oplutil will display too, as in the example image below

Please friends choose one's games menu which we will use to display the theme in this OPLUtil.

For the Game Information menu "error", because the game files are included only used for a preview of games list in OPLUtil, and if you want the Game Information menu functioning normally, then put the actual iso dvd game in the DVD folder.
