Many new features/options have been added since v0.7, so there is a lot more for OPL to load and this causes it to freezes at times. A lot depends on your configurations and if you have Art, themes or large storage device you use, as all those can affect OPL's loading.
I too experience the need to reset the console a lot when starting OPLv0.8 +, but its something the devs are working on to fix. It takes time to get everything working in perfect harmony.![]()

i don't use any Art or themes and my HDD is 80 go (smb). i think its from opl so i'll wait for the next vesion.
thanks for the help.
R u sure everything is the same like always?
I rarely, or never have any problems with OPL 0.8.
It runs very stable, no hangs, no reboots and no need to reset.
(I run vanilla 0.8 version, no artwork etc.)
I use Art (all styles) and Themes, i have over 200 games on a 1TB HDD, so it does take me a bit longer with the newer stuff since OPLv0.7, but i understand why.
But my issue is only with Network loading, not from USB or HDD games, they load right away without any issues. I also notice when accessing that drive from Windows Explorer, it sometimes takes a few secs longer than the other drives, so i know its partially due to the drive being a 1TB and having to load all those images on startups.
But even without enabling art or themes, i have to reset the console many time until OPL finally loads a Network list, even then sometimes freezes up.

Yeah. Itīs really great, and the work that the developers keep putting in is amazing.
This forum is also very friendly and good for discussions or when need of help.
Ok, I guess it takes some time to load the 200 games with images. I have 20 without artwork, so itīs a little less.
OPL doesn't read any game image at startup. Everything is done on-the-fly for art.
For each device it list the theme name (doesn't read their config file either at this moment) and list the games. Both operation are only directory listing stuff (retrieve names) and should not take so much more time with a lot of games or not.
Just trying to "investigate", is your ETH device in auto-start ?
Is it freezing also with the latest revision ?
If it is freezing so often, you might be able to do a wireshark capture of a failing startup ? That could help maybe, or not ...
