    Hello folks

i have use OPL0.7 and OPL0.8 it great sucess, but recently had to add a switch network... it so many gadgets to connect

First i have the PS2 directly connect to the router, works like a charm, 0.8 or 0.7 OPL version, no problem!!! (The SMB folder is on the NAS)

It the same settings now the PS2 is conected to the switch, and the switch obviously connect to the router!!!

The PS2 and the OPL0.8 can't start network!!!! I see the lights on the switch off, if i start network it uLaucher for example it works, the lights are on!!

This is very stranger, i now,........ it a secondary switch, the same problem, if i remove the switch it works!!!!

If i now on method for the netwok to start firts and then enter in OPL maybe it works....i don't now, this is very strange problem

I have a switch and it works pretty well.

What kind of network cable are you using? Maybe you could try another type of cable, a croosover cable instead a straight cable or vice-versa.

Mine also runs off of a separate switch, then into one of the ports in the router. You may have a bad port on your switch, or you could possibly have a bad cable.

What kind of switch/equipment do you have ?

Could one of the "chain" only support 10Mbits mode ?

Even if it was an old 10meg hub or switch, it would still work fine.

    No, it would not.

OPL try to force 100Mb full-duplex link, and according to someone report that doesn't work (at all) well on a 10Mb unit ...

My Switch is Gigabit, and i also tried in a secondary switch (this is 100mb), and nothing and the same, only works if i connect directely to the router.

But it ulauncher the lights on switch are on, in the correct port connect to the PS2. When i open OPL0.8 the lights are off always.

later i will tried it another cables, but i think this is not the solution.... i am very borring

You are correct, I am wrong. It won't work on 10 meg, just 100 meg full duplex. Its coded into the software to not backwards negotiate.

Well, it is just a matter of modifying one Makefile to enable back auto-negotiation.

    For those interested it is:

    Code:
    open-ps2-loader_current\modules\network\SMSMAP\Makefile
Open it, and remove the "-DFORCE_100M_FD"

    Code:
    IOP_CFLAGS += -Wall -fno-builtin -DFORCE_100M_FD
