OPL, PS3, and Wireless Connection
OPL, PS3, and Wireless Connection –
Hello guys, first post here I hope its cool that its a question. I am trying to setup OPL on my ps3 through a wireless connection. I am fairly knowledgeable about networking, so I am pretty sure all of my settings are right. I am 100% sure the folder is being shared properly, so let me quit wasting your time and get down to the problem. When trying to connect through SMB I get the network error 203, but I notice the wireless light on the ps3 does not start blinking until after the network error, and then it stays on. I feel like the console isn't turning on its wireless until after it fails the connection for some reason. Also, when the ps3 is at the dashboard it shows up under my router's attached devices list, with an attached ip of 192.168.1.8. But once I am in OPL it is no longer there.
Like I said I am sure my settings are right but I have it set to what the ps3 shows in its connection settings with an IP of 192.168.1.8, and a gateway of 192.168.1.1 which is what I use to connect to my router. My PC ip is 192.168.1.13, and also my PC is connected to the router via ethernet. I feel like its something in the software that just quite isn't compatible with a wireless connection, but I seen this guy on youtube (cant post links, but search wifi ps2 gaming on ps3 on youtube) doing it with OPL 0.7. My setup is the same as his, with my proper IP settings of course. I have searched the forum for the past 6 hours but cannot find anything on this. Does anybody have a clue? I would appreciate any help I receive.
