Is it possible to play games off of different directories? I have 3 different hard drives with a PS2SMB folder in each one of them. Currently I have to either change the directory in OPL or change the share folder on my computer because I can't have 2 different PS2SMB folders shared on the network.

Under linux you can easily do symbolic links, with Windows Vista and later you should be able to:

Yes you can, as long as the fileshare name is slightly different.

There is nothing to prevent you from having fileshares named PS2SMB_A, PS2SMB_B, PS2SMB_C, etc, either all on the same HDD or distributed over many.

The only thing you need to reconfigure in choosing between such fileshares is to edit the fileshare name setting in the network config of OPL, after which you exit OPL and restart it again. (Which in my setup happens automatically after the 'Exit' command.) And editing the final character only of such a fileshare name is quite simple, even with the virtual keyboard via gamepad of OPL.

The best thing of all here is that you don't have to leave the PS2 in changing these settings in order to browse another of the fileshares. And hopefully some future version of OPL can also eliminate the need for Exit+Restart for each such change. (Adding some new command to restart the SMB connection instead.)

Thanks, I was hoping that they would all be listed together. Hitting the button a couple more times to change the directory isn't going to kill me I guess

Having the available shares listed to choose from would of course have been much more convenient, but that would have required designing a minimal fileshare browser just for this single use, and that is clearly not going to happen anytime soon.

Second best would have been to allow the user to define some alternate string choices instead of just one, and to choose between them. But that would have demanded extending the string editing for multiple entries, and extending the configuration parser and saver to cope with those alternate strings, so that too would have 'cost' more than its 'worth', in efforts VS convenience.

Good, because that's how I think it'll have to be, for now anyway.
