I have managed to find a HDD Utility Disc and have also found a patch for it (ATAD.irx patch) such that it will work with any hard drive inserted and not just the Sony HDD it comes with. OPL is also able to run this backup. My question is: Is there any consequence for using this through the loader instead of the PS2's disc drive? I can defrag my computers hard drive while it's active but is there a consequence here?

    Hi!

    Too less infos.

    What region do you have?

Forget the defrag. You donīt really need this disk.
Normally you use a hddloader elf to set up the disk.
    And thatīs it...

    Rgds.

Yes but in the future defraging the HDD might become necessary and I don't really wanna have to remove it to do so.

The PS2 is NTSC as well as the disc.

Now that I didn't know... I use a 500gb internal SATA (yes, internal) I guess this wouldn't be very effective then even if it did work. Thanks!
