They're selling it with 35$ a piece, as i see it's just a memory card with OPL on it . Lame way to make money , but they've being doing that since ..forever .

As I understand their claims it must also have FMCB, since they claim ability to use this obvious homebrew stuff without any modchip or other homebrew booter like SwapMagic, and the only boot method which can do this for the given range of models is FMCB.

But they 'conveniently' left out the fact that it can only boot on a few of the earliest SCPH-900xx consoles, as the newer ones have bios v2.30 which blocks FMCB (and any masked clones of it). Possibly they don't even realize it themselves...

Lame way to make money , but they've being doing that since ..forever .
And it will happen again, and again, and again...

We just shouldn't let it affect what we do, except by continuing to educate people in how to get the stuff free instead. But there will always be new victims for these predators...

We mustn't let such things throw us off our stride in any way.

They are beneath our contempt and certainly not worth interrupting important work in order to attempt 'fighting' them in any way (waste of time as new ones will come anyway).

The best thing we can do is to just ignore them and proceed as usual.

    Best regards: dlanor

Team Tweezers (Wii) added nag screens on their software (Homebrewn Channel). Perhaps add a nag screen to FMCB (which isn't open source) would help ?

A nag screen? Before I became a developer of any kind, they kindda pissed me off - because most of those screen meant that I have to wait for a few seconds (It's not much, but I'm a person who hates to waste time on waiting unnecessarily).

Now I know the other side of the story - why devs want to place "nag-screens" on their software - to also prevent such "thefts" from occurring.

But seriously, there has got to be some other way to resolve this (Maybe a full-program CRC32 check, that is encrypted/compressed with a packer that isn't released)... other than introducing a feature that may (or not) tick off some users.

Nintendo did that to prevent their logo from being removed from their GBA console BIOS.

How about licencing the code under Creative Commons, allowing modifications but not commercial use? That would render those involved in copyright infringement liable. Hosts, too, would be more eager to remove the material in violation of copyright.
