Compatibility with DMS has been fixed in the latest beta 0.9 revision.

I'll test my Crystal Chip 2.0 SLE chip in a few mins and report.....

    Edit:
    Works with modchip ON
Boots OPL v0.8 fine from the CC 2.0 SLE Application Browser. Didnt test anything else about it, just that it boots.

    Edit2:
Tested the loading of settings and ran a game from SMB....works OK.

OPL (hg version 536) isn't compatible with the O2 Mod chip - see my post (Open PS2 Loader - Bug reports) in the bug report thread.

Ah first time you mentioned a revision number.

However I don't think this information is any useful, as it doesn't seems the revision 536 have something to do with this incompatibility report.

Usually when you report a precise revision, it means the revision N-1 (here 535) was working fine.

Mine too, though I haven't made extensive compatibility tests with that console. (An old v7) It may be that some specific usage is incompatible, though I missed it.

Just for a basic test right now, I booted this v7 PS2 using the DMS4pro DEV1 method to boot uLE which I then used to launch OPL v0.8 (the public release == rev 503).Once in uLE I switched to the HDD menu and activated it (I have it set for manual activation). Once the game list appeared (lots of partitions to scan take time) I then selected FFX international and pressed X, at which the game proceeded to boot normally.

For my next test I dug up an old copy of OPL v0.7 (== rev 245 I think), and again used it to select the same 'FFX Int' game from the HDD, and again it booted perfectly.

I have no clue as to why some people say this modchip is inherently incompatible with OPL, because in those tests I have made with it that is simply not the case. At least not from v0.7 and on, Only the really old versions before that were allergic against all modchips...

But I am well aware that I may have missed incompatibilities with some particular usage of the modchip or of OPL v0.7 and v0.8 which may cause them to work badly together, since I seldom test much on that console.

For example: It is quite likely that the HDD drivers used for a DEV2 boot may mess with the ability of OPL to use HDD when OPL is directly booted by DEV2 method. But that is a problem inherent with the use of DEV2, but not with the modchip itself.

Most of my OPL tests are made on a newer v15 PSTwo without any modchip and booted through FMCB, or on a v18 also unmodded and booted through SwapMagic.

    Best regards: dlanor
