alrighty well just a little discussion and since i haven't really seen any threads on this recently i wanted to start a discussion. Right now for OPL from what i know of the latest version is OPL 0.9 beta r590. Now i haven't gone far into it yet, but it appears to be as OPL 0.8 from the start with a faster loading cycle. It also plays dvd9 games as well, tested with unripped guitar hero 5.

Now this isn't 100% confirmed yet, but i tested guitar hero 5 recently like i said, and well the starting movie clips did not glitch/introduction. Now i amn't 100% sure on this but if The hackers have fixed the movie clips for OPL, I would say that last version will probably be 0.9

Also does anyone know of a more recent release? Or somewhere where we can find more of thier updates and progress??? So far, I've mostly seen just sharing your art and stuff for OPL 0.9

It seems theres no official spot where we can find info about it.
But if we get any info about 0.9, its probably be on this forum.

Guitar Hero 5 works flawlessly with OPL r590 from internal HDD. If you are using USB, you are doomed to view stuttering videos. There is no fix for this. The latest rev is r630

Using yoshi's minips2dev VM, the latest rev it pulls and compiles is r638, and I use it daily. All GH games work flawlessly from USB, SMB, and HDD outside of the intro videos (they're too high-bitrate for USB and even SMB to handle, obviously internal HDD eats these videos for lunch with room in it's mouth to spare, lol), but gameplay is perfect, even on the full-band games with more channels of audio being streamed (and even on Rock Band series where there is background video being streamed as well, lluckily they are lower bitrate and resolution).

    GSM 0.36 + OPL r639 = Gaming bliss ^_^

okay well first thanks for the latest news, i will definatly get opl 0.9 r638. For OPL 0.9 r590, that is what i have been using and what i have been trying to say is i have used it on usb, 2nd the intro vids did not strutter, and yeah it worked flawlassly without any glitches in the game/movies. I do personally agree, though but since opl 0.9 should/will probably be the last version, do you think they will move on to working it for psx games off hdd or a new program all together for psx games? I mean i tried ps2psxe and i have very bad compatibility although for a gui it's pretty good.

Edit: Hey where on earth do you get to find these files? I mean we can find rev590 around but i haven't found 630 or 638????

well for opl or ps2 esdl, for esdl no, it was essentialy made for only external storage devices a.k.a. usbs/hard drives. For opl 0.9r590 yeah you can still find it, for the starting videos though introductions it doesn't glitch which is kinda strange but it may not be taken as a video. Still wondering where on earth you found these revs and if anyone could direct us to where you guys got it it would be great. Also probably the reason this hasn't ever been viewed is because no one had to deal with it, but for the guitar heroes that are dvd9 they do allow band gameplay such as rockband. Does the newer revisions have this fix because mine doesn't (590). When i plug in the microphone the game always glitches and won't load then. Also, does anyone know if when doing band gameplay we could attach a multi-usb port to the first input hole and use the hdd from the 2nd or 3rd slot allowing full band gameplay???

Edit: Now, i have found one of the lastest revs thanks to LocalH, the reason it is not being releashed all over the place is because as in the thread, the updates being changed are tiny and small, as it is getting harder and harder to change and varry to gain the most compatibility while still keeping the old ones. For this rev (opl 0.9 rev630) there is more compatibility however the loading time is quite the bit longer then that or opl 0.8's, so for those using opl 0.9 rev590, i suggest you keep them both handy. The link is in the first post and i will keep updates whenever i spot them. For now the latest update is opl 0.9 rev639
