Just tested PS3 version OPNUSBLD 0.41(jimmi cdvdman version) with the same games on my PS3 60gb ntsc, and ALL of these games freeze on white(pink, blue, white)
Here is the method I'm following.
1) look at SKSapps compatibility list for games I have. http://list.sksapps.com/
2) specifically look for games that have been reported as not working on USBA, have no report at all, or are not listed.
3) quick google search to see if anyone else reported the game working or not.
4) test game with all three loaders and report here
*If anyone else knows of another list that is more focused on USBA compatibility, with updates about IOPRP patching adding compatibility, etc, I'd love to add that to the sksapps list to search before testing.
I tested the following games so far. v7 NTSC-U PS2, 2.5" 30 GB 5200 RPM HDD in enclosure
Monster Jam Urban Assault NTSC-U SLUS 218.07 (non- IOPRP patched)-
Open USBLD 0.41 works, USBL pink screen freeze
Thunder Force 6 NTSC-J SLPM-55096
works on both loaders. This game didn't work with USBA.:applaud:
War of the Monsters NTSC-U SCUS 971.97 pink, green, pink
both loaders load the game, but freeze after level load screen.
This game is very picky. It only works from Disc, Toxic OS, or USBA, not 100% HDL compatible. In HDL it works on single player, but freezes on load screen when attempting 2 player modes.
Serious Sam Second Encounter SLUS 209.07 pink, green, pink
both loaders load the game, and work fine in the menus, but output highly corrupted game graphics when in actual game play, as seen in the screen shot. The games sound did work though, and you could still interact with the game. It's just impossible to see what's going on.
This game also doesn't work with USBA.

From the looks of things, it looks like the open usb loader is already more compatible with games than the crap ass usb advance.
Actually, not really... those games that need streaming support/some functions not implemented yet do not work (But work in USBAdvance).
Tested OpenUsbLd v0.41 on a unmodified SCPH-77006 (Japan region code) with FMCB. I would indicate whether the game I tested works in USBAdvance or not.. but if I didn't then it's because I did not fully test it.
Region code legend:
SLUS-XXXXXX -> USA
SLPM-XXXXXX/SLPS-XXXXXX -> Japan
SCES-XXXXXX -> Europe (But none here)

Metal Slug Anthology[SLUS-21550] -> Metal Slug 6 freezes on load (Black screen, works in USBAdvance)
Need for Speed: Underground 2[SLUS-21065] -> Works (DNAS Patched, works in USBAdvance)
Melty Blood Act Cadenza[SLPM-66438] -> Freezes (Black screen, not working in USBAdvance)
Sugoi! Arcana Heart 2[SLPM-55147] -> Freezes (Black screen, not working in USBAdvance)
Mahou Sensei Negima Kagai Jugyou[SLPM-66329] -> Freezes at loading screen (Graphics still working, but the game did not load after 10 mins with no HDD activity)
Dead or Alive 2 - Hardcore[SLUS-20071] -> Working (Works in USB Advance)
SCPH-75004, 2GB pendrive "PQI" and I tried both games (PAL, unpatched) on OpenUsbLd and OpenUsbLd_USBA (coundnt boot USB advance, the one from sksapps, so I cant tell if the run or not and dont have time to look for another version)
Splinter Cell Pandora Tomorrow - Pink, Green, Pink and then stays at Black. After the black screen appears the pendrive's led was flashing for like 2 secs and then stopped. I give it couple of minutes to "think" if its gonna start, but it didnt. :(
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Smash-Up - Pink, Green (it freeze for 3-5 seconds), Pink, Black (again stays for like 5 seconds) and then starts. The videos are crappy and loading times are like two times slower, but its fully playable. I beat the arcade on easy just for the test and except loading it runs great.
